I think LSu will finish 1st
our silent committ Loston is a 5 star not listed yet
I really like our chances withthe other 2 5 stars in Randle and Debose
I think LSU ends up with 6 players that are 5 stars and the recruiting title
I don't necessarily disagree with how you guys will finish, but I really don't think it will be enough to get the number one overall spot. I do think you guys will get Loston, and honestly I don't know much about Debose, but arguendo I'll assume that you guys get him too (even though I think he may be a tough pull, though admittedly he really likes LSU, simply because he is the perfect type of player for the Florida offense, and the Gators have dang near made him priority #1, but nevertheless). That only leaves Randle in play.
Anyway, you guys are currently fourth in the Scout.com ratings, and the gap behind Ohio State is big. It's over 1,200 points right now, and that's bigger than the gap between 4th and 20th. Considering that Ohio State has at least one more five-star sitting on the board that they should get, I just don't see any way possible that you guys can get the number one ranking there. Barring a pretty big surge of decommitments from the Buckeyes -- which isn't happening as long as Tressel is there -- they've got the number one ranking with Scout.com wrapped up. Bottom line, the Scout.com recruiting title this year belongs to Ohio State.
Rivals could very well be a different story, though. You guys are #1 there right now, but by ungodly thin margins (a mere six points separate the top three). If USC can finish out there class like they are expected to, I think they should probably (slightly) edge you guys out. They've got at least three and maybe four five-stars left on the board, and they (according to my USC friend) should have room for a couple of other signees as well, so that should put them over the top. However, if you guys close like you should, I think you'll edge out Ohio State and get second.
If I had to wager right now, I'd say the smart money would be on you guys to finish second on Rivals, and third on Scout.com.
That said, though, things can change a pretty good bit, and other programs have a lot of high caliber players to add too. We're going to add at least two more five-stars (Kirkpatrick and Kelly), plus we have good shots to land a couple more (Massie and Randle), and that is to say nothing about the fact that Fluker should get a fifth-star with Scout.com and Nico Johnson should with Rivals. We're going to end up with 4-6 five-stars in our own right, and the same thing goes for USC and Ohio State as well. As mentioned earlier, USC will end up with 8-9 five-stars, and Ohio State is going to get at least five of them in their own right.
I think for you guys it will mainly come down to Randle. I know there is the possibility of losing Janzen Jackson to us (which I do
not expect to happen, by the way), but Randle will likely be the difference. If you guys get him, I figure you guys finish second and third, but if we can steal him out of Bastrop, I think you guys probably fall to third and fourth and we pass you guys at least in one service, if not both. Again, though, as I've said before, I think the smart money is still on Randle staying in-state, so you guys will probably edge us out. Either way, it's going to be neck-and-neck, and both will be two really great recruiting classes.
And by the way, it's good to see some of you LSU guys back on the recruiting board. I guess it's just the fact that we are only battling over one common player in our respective classes, but either way most of you guys have been pretty scarce the past few months, so it's nice to see you return.
