It's on ESPN+, which I don't have, so I'm following on X.

At the half looks like Philon and Hollaway are the leading scorers.

Anybody watching live?

I was able to watch a live stream on a very questionable YouTube channel...

From what I was able to watch, I am pleased. Offense is clicking, turnovers need to be cleaned up but not terrible. Overall we played a much better game defensively.

Holloway was on fire. Davion Hannah seems like he will be a great slasher for us, he is SUPER athletic. All of our gaurds, including Wrightsell surprisingly, are all getting to the rim. Something we didn't have as much of last year unless their jersey read "Sears".

Really pumped to see these guys play a real game. RTR

Good to hear. Excited about Hannah too. And I think Allen will blow up this year too!

Success this year may depend on whether our Bigs click in the offense.

I hate to be a downer but I was not impressed.

Our bigs made very little impact on either side of the court while giving up 19 offensive rebounds to a Southern Conference team. Even our backcourt veterans were sloppy with the ball and had trouble getting any flow to our offense.

The Garden, where our season really begins, may not be pretty. At least it will tell us where we really stand.

I watched about 10 minutes of the first half and came away wondering where our front court defense, rebounding and scoring will come from. During that stretch, Furman was the more physical team IMHO. I think we are going to miss Little Mo a lot.

theoretically, there’s enough big guys tall wise that should be able to scrap block out and get those rebounds strength wise and technique wise will have to see

Thinking team might struggle rebounding and lack of a more developed big will hurt. Not sure Sherrill took a step he needed to

After the first exhibition, I thought the same thing about Sherrill. Didn't have anything to do with his production, but instead was all about his movement, spacing, and athleticism. Will say he looked better in the Furman game, so hopefully he'll get better.

Inside is where we'll have concerns this year - on the perimeter we'll be A plus. From a defensive view, I'd like to see a starting five of Sherrill, Bol Bowen, Allen, Trelly, and Labaron with the second five being Holloway, Hannah, Mallette, Bristow, and Williamson. Know that's probably not what it'll end up being though.

I think for the first time in his tenure Oats has messed up roster construction and the lack of a rim protector/rebounder is going to really hurt this teams chances to be elite.

I think missing on Cliff last year really influenced Oat's thinking. I say "missing" because as good as Cliff was, he really wasn't the enforcer down low that was hoped for (think Bediako here). I think they want Williamson to be that guy this year, but at this point the jury is still out.

Yep... we've got guys on the roster that can become that, but they've got to turn the corner. At this point, Bristow looks the most likely of the bunch.

These exhibition games are going to look ragged with CNO trying to figure out playing rotations/minutes. Since we have so many guys that tall guards/small forwards I think he gave them more time to see how they will do.

I'm not predicting a dominating inside game, but we've got plenty of length down there. Sherrill is supposedly 7' along with Williamson. The new big freshman is not far off and weighs 265 and the FSU transfer is 6'10 and Bristow is too.

I think those guys will get more PT when CNO figures out his guard rotation a little more. And, I remember Sherrill starting a little slow last year too and then he got more aggressive into the conference play.

Williamson is not athletic. Very far from it. Williamson is going to struggle in the SEC.

Last year, Mo D played really big when we needed it. Based on the limited play I’ve seen so far, Noah and Aiden play small. Despite his new buff body, Aiden still has significant issues moving his feet and getting off the floor.

I think that's a pretty accurate description of what I felt after seeing Sherrill in the opener. Looked better on Sunday, but he's got a ways to go.
