I agree with others that this year has that rebuilding feel about it..If we have another loss that pretty much takes us out of the NC play-off's & SEC Championship possibility..Then maybe we should start playing Coker some during games whether or not they're close or not..And build for the future..I'm not saying bench Sims, but, we should play Coker some during games against some SEC D's so he'll get a feel for them now..

this is absolutely correct, but is the plague of all success. happens to all teams in all sports that have continued success. it's how you deal with it that sets apart the true greats.
nothing lasts forever, and since saban's not going to be here for 25 years like bryant was, it's not likely we're going to see a resurgence of what we saw the last 5 years anytime soon.

bryant won 3 titles in his first 7 years and then went 7 more years before his 4th, and in between there were a couple of 6-5 seasons and a fair amount of mediocrity.

the likelihood that we're going to bounce back and be a juggernaut in the remainder of saban's tenure is not too great.

Saban was letting us know back in January when he said something about treating it like starting all over in 2007 because that is the kind of team we've got.
If that is true, I just have to wonder, why is that the kind of team we've got?

And here we are with the 2 Mississippi teams possibly could be 2-3 in the next rankings..Wild season for sure..
Six short weeks ago, the college football world thought TAMU was going to destroy everybody in the SEC. Things can change people. This season is far from over. Get behind this team.

Product of some of our own success. We recruit well, but believe it or not, it is not easy to reload. We lose some great players to the NFL, those that are left are the ones that didn't quite pan out (4th and 5th yr seniors not quite good enough to make the NFL), young players, and a couple of stars. Ask LSU, they'll tell you all about it

We might be down, we might be out, we might be rebuilding, but I don't think CNS is done.

isn't this where great coaching is supposed to come into play?

just because we don't have 10 nfl players on the roster doesn't mean we have to look like a clown show on the field.

Bringing in Coker would have made no difference imo. Our problems are more fundamental than that.

Bringing in Coker tonight would probably have caused a loss. However, there is no hiding the fact that our offensive problems revolve around the QB position. ARK tonight decided that they were going to practically ignore the QB and send their safeties and sometimes even corners. Our OL didn't play terribly tonight. They just were trying to block too many with too few. That never is pretty. They did a good job of taking away Blake's short stuff and they simply disrespected his ability to throw long. It paid off for them big time, even if it didn't win the game. Starting next week, Blake will have to prove himself all over again as a long-ball passer. We'll get more feedback from the people who could attend, but I find it hard to believe that we had no receivers open at all downfield. It'll be interesting to hear what they saw. On defense, I said it during the game thread. We just look a step slow and big for the direction the game has moved. It'll be interesting to see what the coaches can do with this team...

I think if we can regroup and beat A&M next week at home we will be fine. Remember we were a 50/50 ball in the endzone away from beating OM on the road - who is now ranked #3 in the country - and beating A&M on the road 21-0.

I don't even know what say. I thought coming into this season we were probably a 9-3 or 8-4 type team but the fast start and FLA performance suckered me into thinking we had a Championship/Playoff quality team. That's not the case at all and it feels like a gut punch.

Right now we are a 6-6 to 7-5 team and I don't understand why really. Like many have said this is the worst a Bama team has looked and played since the Dubose or Shula days. Just horrible body language combined with undisciplined sloppy play.

The O-Line is especially horrendous. Please someone with good knowledge of O-Line X's and O's explain WHAT is going on there? I saw a Mod allude to it being personnel handicapping things Cristobal wants to do. I'm sorry I can't remember who said it now...maybe Mack...please break that down.

As a fan I'm just putting my head down in a positively focused way and cheer to go to a decent bowl. I'm afraid 8-4 may be the best THIS particular group can achieve. It will be tough to watch but I'll support them anyway.

I was screaming throughout the game that there was someone open down the field most of the time. He does not see the field well. That bothers me a lot. On the playaction while he's running, White was open most of the time.
