Going to watch the game w/ Hubby in the front room so I might not be able to read this thread during the game...*cries* I will be here in spirit for sure though....*wails* Don't miss me to much...lol *grin*

And again it's another year that the SEC's hopes are reliant on Bama...Jeez! Having the fate of so many schools that hate us in our hands is a LOT of pressure on our guys, not to mention ME dang it. These times make me want to reevaluate my love for FB...then I snap out of it and thank gawd I am a Bama fan after growing up in an AU family. ;)

If they have what I had -- it was a viral pneumonia that last 3 weeks plus. I sure hope not.

On another note, I have a wedding to perform today @ 5:30pm EST. :) Thank the Good Lord for a DVR! (I joked with the groom that I might have my ipad with the game on in the middle of my notebook!!!)

"Flu" is used to mean any kind of illness. I think it took the spot of the old "grippe." This "flu" I take it to be the GI sort. BTW, even with a flu shot, there's no guarantee this year. Turns out that it doesn't guard against what's turning out to be the most common, which is also the one which makes you the sickest...
Oh dear...reminds me of the game Rolando had to get IVs to keep him hydrated during the game cause he was sick as a dog. Was that a championship game too? Think it was. I hope all of the guys are hydrating well, and staying on top of it. I of course also hope they feel better for sure...hey maybe if they get to kickin' some tail in the game they will feel a LOT better *grin*

btw I have never had a flu shot, or the flu. I got sick right before Thanksgiving with something different than the flu, still got a little hacking cough....so I agree w/ Tide-Hsv the shot isn't a guarantee at all or perfect protection.

Good news is the basketball game vs Xavier doesn't start until 8 central so I shouldn't have to miss any of the football game before switching to the basketball game. I'm not getting anything done around the house today.

Hoping for quick start by the Tide. I want the SEC Championship worse than the National Championship.

I had kind of an interesting pregame experience. I was in the grocery store in little Bluffton, Ohio, wearing my Bama sweatshirt, and I see this older gentleman in a Missouri Tigers Jacket and cap. So I approached him, started a conversation, mentioned how coincidental that there would be a fan for each SEC Division champ in the same store in this small Ohio town, on the day of the SEC championship game. He said he hoped Missouri could make the game competitive, but he didn’t think so. I said these games where Bama is a heavy favorite always concern me.
Then he said ”Well, the quarterback is my grandson.” Turns out I was talking to Maty Mauk’s grandfather. Mauk went to high school in Kenton, about 35 minutes from here, so I guess it shouldn’t have surprised me. He was a friendly man, but once he got going, he could sure talk about his son and grandsons.
That’s my pregame story from Ohio. Roll Tide, everyone!

Since the former has to happen before the latter can,....yeah, right now, I want the SEC championship more. Tomorrow I might change my mind!

I thought I would have natural immunity because of my age, being around as a kid when H1N1 came around in '09. Nope. I was very ill for about three months. I'm on a medication now which suppresses my immune system, so I'm very leery of the current flu...

For those with flu, try unfiltered apple cider vinegar and baking soda, raw honey and Ceylon cinnamon, organic sulfur, food grade hydrogen peroxide. Check those out.

Yea I am immunosupressed too (MS drug of course) so I am extra careful. I have a 7 year old, and of course that goes STRAIT out the window cause I got a 1st grader. Though I am a little obnoxious telling kids that don't 'cover their mouths' to do so...I have yet to have a parent get aggravated with me, yet. She brought something home though that had me hacking and feverish for longer than I have ever been sick before. Thank the lord it got a little better right before thanksgiving, or I'd have been useless for sure...and Hubby was hosting some of his soldiers too. Oh boy could that have went bad had I not got better.

Rick Karle just tweeted out that Bama has only given up 3 rushing TDs all season. I didn't realize it was that low! RTR.
