It was really bad. Thank goodess our guys stayed focused. They really tried to givw ATM this game. WorstI have seen in a long time.

I've got to try and be calm here. I talked to my friend from Eugene, OR who is coming with me to the Arky game, and he said I sounded exhausted - he also loved the game and is looking forward to his trip to heaven (BDS).

I'm also one of the loudest pointing out here that while bad calls are part of the game, they RARELY cost you the actual game. It's pretty hard to put any loss on a bad call since you have to figure things like turnovers, etc - plus, nobody cares if the bad call was in the first quarter.

But THAT was atrocious. Those guys ought to forfeit their game checks for that nonsense. I'd get fired in the lab if I made that many mistakes that were so damaging. I - quite frankly - despise Tom Ritter and that crew. That's the same crew that cost us a first and goal at the one and called it a pick in the 2011 LSU game - and literally gave the Tigers the game there. I'll have to go back and watch but off the top of my head:

1) The phantom false start early in the game - that's why we got no rhythm. The first was our fault but that second one was a joke.

2) That ejection/penalty on Ha Ha was insane. When even Gary Danielson is screaming in favor of Alabama, it HAD to be awful. That was a great play by Dix - notice you never heard his name again? That targeting penalty is fair if you have actual targeting but that was too ridiculous.

3) Blocks in the back - Manziel is a great player so don't think I'm ripping him. But a 43-year old fat guy like myself could have stayed back there all day to toss passes at eventually open receivers with all the blocks those guys got away with.

4) The helmet call was the only questionable one I remember that went against aTm.



When we do good, bad, ugly, the ugly is the refs.


O-line - excellent, you grew up.

Defense - won't hold it against you because those two hosses were legit.

The big picture? No matter how bleak, our guys realize: "Hey, we were down by 14 to a top ten team on the road in 100 degree heat. No problem!!"

Not complaining but making an observation about the refs...when I was coaching, I could handle a badly called game as long as the refs were consistent and sure of what they thought they saw. But today was the total opposite of that...they were not sure of what they thought they saw and had major conferences about most calls. The Ha-Ha call was absolutely incompetent. I told my wife if I was coaching, I would have stayed out on the field until I got some satisfaction. There is no excuse for refs at this level to display what they did today.

There is NO WAY to overstate how bad it was. Think of the worst officiated game in any sport at any level you've ever seen - and then realize that that poorly officiated game was an NFL Super Bowl-level classic by comparison.

It was horrendous. On a scale of 1-10, it was a -2.5.

Can't say enough about the gutty effort from the Aggies offense. Unfortunately, their defense only made one play all game and Bama's made 3 or 4.

And the Aggies got hosed against Rice on a similar call. They need to have a mid-season rule change and have the ability to completely overturn the call from the booth if needed.

I'll put it this way, the non holding calls, they let The Aggies get away with, was the biggest factor in the game..It allowed "Johnny Football" to basically run around until his WR's finally could get open & make plays that kept them in the game..I'm not going to get down on our DB's cause if giving longenough time to do so, the WR's will eventually get open, and that's exactly what happen today..We just had the talent to overcome the "Home Cooking" is what it boiled down to..

A lot of you will be too young to remember it, but this reminded me of Bear Bryant vs. Johnny Vaught, Scott Hunter vs. Archie Manning, in Oct 1969. I was there at Legion Field with my granddaddy when the Tide rolled 33-32!

I think that all of the close calls went aTm's way, and there were a couple of horrible calls that went their way, but you won so I would just let it go.

Believe it or not, I am well aware that Bama won, as I said in the second to the last last sentence of my post. You pointing that out is not necessary. My point was that I got jumped on in a PM (I won't say who sent it as my intent is not to call anyone out) for being overly harsh of the officials When I say it was bad, I meant all around. Yes, aTm got some bad calls too.

Let me clarify something - I said the helmet rule was the only bad call against ATM, but it actually wasn't. It is a BAD RULE, but in that case it WAS the right call.

The officiating was horrible today. I'm just glad that our boys played through it. This game was won though in the second quarter.

When you are good and lucky you are hard to beat.

Manziel may be the best, lucky player I've ever seen.

Funny thing is the one bad break he got today was the INT off Williams helmet to Sunseri and that was the difference in the game!

Yea, Manziel's playing reminded me of the 2010 South Carolina game. He could do no wrong. I'm very proud of our guys.RTR! We're going to be alright the rest of the way. Great game for AJ.
