BamaStuff.com question?

This has affected me as well. Question. When you cancel a credit card in a situation like this is it charged against your credit or reflect badly on credit history?

No bad activity yet, but now I can understand why it has taken them over a week to ship out my NC junk.

I honestly think they don't have the stuff in stock. I went in there last Saturday after the celebration, and they had next to nothing in way of championship merchandise. I couldn't believe it. Martin's in Decatur had more stuff than they did.

If you close an account entirely, then it does have a negative impact. It's better to just have the bank close that card and re-issue a new card with a different number.

I also got the email but the card had expired. Will look carefully at my bank statement though. I had a breach a few months ago and had to change cards then. Wonder if it's related. BofA was all over it. Someone was charging hundreds of dollars at a Walmart in Kansas.

I got the same email. I bought some items on 1-12-2012. I received the items this week and got the email yesterday. I reviewed my account and haven't seen any bogus charges yet. I may get them to send me a new card.

I got the same email. I am not too worried about it, but I went ahead and had my credit card company cancel my card and issue a new one. Better safe than sorry.

Yeah I got the email from BamaStuff and one from Zappos. The wording of the emails is almost exactly the same which concerned me. I did not change my passwords on either accounts (they had a link from the email-bad!) but did cancel my credit card which had NOT expired. Pain in the butt-I will not order anything from either company again.

I guess started getting fraudulent charges on my credit card last night. Keep a close eye on your statements if you order from these guys and haven't changed your credit card yet.

I got a notification from American Express about fraudulent activity on my card at the beginning of February. There were 3 attempted charges - 1 in the U.K. and 2 other websites. They cancelled my Amex and reissued one and took off all the charges and marked them as fraud. All because I bought my mother a t-shirt for Christmas from there. Stupid hackers!!

My brother's debit card number was hacked someone, and they drained out all his funds. One was in Italy of all places. I asked him how long it had been since he bought something from here, but it has been a while.

I saw on the bottom scroll on CNN over the weekend that hackers are targeting Alabama websites so that may be how everything has been stolen.

Got me today too. Got fraud alert call from GE Credit. One charge in UK, three other attempts of one dollar to see if the card was still good.

Got me yesterday. We canceled one card and thought we were OK. I got an email from my bank about suspicious activity, it was over $500 at Macy's. I called my bank and I was protected, thankfully. Then Macy's called to approve the charge, said it was being shipped to me. He canceled the order but the last 4 digits were different than the one my bank said was used. They had tried to use an old expired card.
