BCS DVD released today

Here is my brief review of the Blu-ray. I think the picture quality is pretty good. No where near as good as your typical BD movie of course, I'd say about on par with the original broadcast. I popped the DVD copy in just to see what it looked like and I'd have to say that it is sub-par DVD quality. Lots of pixelation for even DVD standards, colors seem good just looks like the over compressed it. I'm happy with the purchase because I bought it for the BD, if I had bought it for the DVD I would have been very disappointed.

Good to know. I don't have a Blu-ray, but I'm about to purchase one. On top of everything else, my mostly-used set in my study doesn't digest DVDs all that well. It's a Sony Bravia and looks great with HD, but it's sub par with SD and DVDs. I didn't realize that until one time I was watching a SD game on it and happened to go out to the end of my house where my grill dwells and turned it on there on a much older Toshiba LCD and the game looked 10x better than on the Sony. When I saw that DVD was all that was available last year, I forgot about it...

After watching mine this weekend...and I'm probably about to hijack the thread here...i noticed AJ and Barrett going at it earlier in the game. We were moving right to left on screen. It was a play where the NG jumped offsides but they were arguing after the play was blown dead. Similar to the pushing incident.

so how was the final review of the bcs game on blu-ray? I'm just curious as to what all it includes? Is there any pre/post game?

I also watched the blu-ray version this weekend and was surprised at how much better the picture quality was over the original HD broadcast. The color was sharper and the white uniforms just popped. To watch without commercials was a joy. The entire game was 148 minutes long with at least one replay of just about every play. I would recommend it especially if your space on your DVR is running low.

Thanks to all you guys for answering my question on the quality. As such, I reward you with this picture I edited with a word bubble that I had been meaning to do since the first time I saw it.

Someone's actually done that one before. That guy's face is so quintessentially Irish, he could be a leprechaun. I guess that's how he got the job...

Dang! Sorry for wasting bandwidth then guys. I just remember when I saw that on the 8th how much I loved it

I enjoyed seeing it again. The look on the leprechaun's face - longing and sorrowful - is priceless. I ordered both a Panasonic Blu-Ray player and the game on BD from Amazon tonight. The leprechaun legends and the troll legends in Norway seem to be somewhat related. In fact, most societies have similar legends. Years ago, mid 70s, I was hiking with my older daughter, 11 or 12 at the time, pretty far from civilization in south-central Norway. We unexpectedly met an older gentleman dressed in traditional Norwegian dress - knee pants, white stockings with a heavy black wool jacket with red decoration and gold ties for closures. He more or less grabbed Deb and motioned to my camera and I took a photo of the two. My Norwegian was just a few words at the time. I could communicate better now, but the only word I understood was "troll." Come to think of it, we were right near a bridge over an impressive whitewater stream... :D

I recorded it in HD and 3D. I've re-watched both and it's a totally different experience with the 3D. No matter what the format, I still get the same JOY!

Now we just need to harass someone until they put out the Alabama vs LSU title game on blu-ray. I'd also like Bama v UF 2009 and Bama v UGA 2012 on blu-ray. I downloaded a torrent of the Bama v LSU game and tried to burn it onto a 25 gig blu-ray but it didn't fit. I guess because it had pre-game, post-game etc. May have to try and find another version.
