BCS Ranking Released

Not worried. They play in the ACC and Clemson has been exposed. FSU is a good team but our remaining schedule is better than theirs. We'll be back at #2 next week provided we take care of our business.

I tend to agree. Top to bottom PAC12 > ACC. FSU's only marquee games would be Miami and VT in the ACC CG but they need VT to win out.

Assuming they win out, and assuming UF doesn't re-enter the rankings.

Oregon has three top25 teams scheduled at this point, we'll see what happens.

We also have the PAC Championship game if we win out. We'll see if FSU will be playing anyone of note in theirs if they continue to win their games. Our opponent in that game will certainly be ranked as well, most likely in the top 15. We've got the edge over them, it's completely ours to lose.

Wow! - Will Oregon's strength of Schedule keep them out the BCSNCG if all three of us remain undefeated?

We will probably end up with 3 undefeated teams imo. Which will be good for promoting the new school board comittee. That should just have gone to 8 teams and kept the bcs formula, it works! FSU is proof.

It's sickening to think this will be the last year of The BCS, there's so many things that can happen, to determine who plays in the BCS NC Game, so many different combinations of wins & loses, that will eventually determine who plays for the NC at the end of the year..Of course all we have to do is win out, and we're in the NC Game, determining who we play against, will be exciting to watch as it unfolds..Yep..It's disheartening to think this will be the last year we experience the excitement of the BCS, that excitement, has made college football the greatest sport on the planet..That all changes after this year..And it suxs when you think about it..

That's what I've been saying all along, but there's money to be made.

Florida state still plays Miami, so if Fsu wins out I believe they will stay #2. I don't see Oregon jumping Fsu if they both win out.

Miami's QB has a STRONG arm and can throw bullets up to 70 yards, but he doesn't know where the ball is going when he throws it. Jameis Winston has a STRONG arm and can throw bullets and over the entire FSU campus (like a full fledged rainbow) and he knows where the ball is going when he throws it, i.e. he's accurate.

Miami doesn't have a chance against FSU and the Gaytors have NO chance at all with that pitiful offense. Hopefully, VT can give FSU a game. Their QB can throw it too and he probably doesn't know where the ball is going or he has no one who can catch it, but he does have a decent D. But I don't think even VT's defense can stop the Seminole's Offense.

Miami is the only worthwhile team FSU plays the rest of the season outside the ACCCG and there is no guarantee on the quality of that opponent.

Oregon is going to leap FSU at some point.

I have this bad feeling we'll be hearing a lot about "fairness" and "equality". "It was the fair thing to do" or "We need more diversity this year"

Remaining schedules:
FSU
NC State 3-3
Miami 6-0
@Wake Forest 4-3
Syracuse 3-4
Idaho 1-6
@Florida 4-3

Total record 21-19

They'd likely play either Miami or Virginia Tech (6-1) in the ACCCG.

Oregon
UCLA 5-1
Stanford 6-1
@Utah 4-3
@Arizona 4-2
Oregon State 6-1

Total record 25-8

P12CG opponent too early too tell.

Most likely, yes.

I'm not sure I agree with that. IMO, (UCLA, Stanford, Utah, Arizona, Oregon State, P12 South Champ) > (NC State, Miami, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Idaho, Florida, ACC Coastal Champ).

Right now, the computers decidedly favor FSU (ranked 1st, 5th, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd) over Oregon (ranked 4th, 2nd, 4th, 4th, 4th, 4th) based on the early season schedule. For that matter, the computers like Missouri more than Oregon. Here's how the computers currently have it:

1. FSU
2. Alabama
3. Missouri
4. Oregon
5. Ohio State
6. Stanford
7. Auburn (!!!)
8. Miami
9. Baylor
10. Clemson

But later in the season as we take some of FSU's 1st place computer votes, and as Oregon faces some of their tougher games and starts to garner more 2nd and 3rd place computer votes, I see them barely sneaking past FSU in the BCS Remember, they're already solidly in 2nd in both the Coaches' and Harris - it's only the computers holding them back. Bama stealing some of FSU's 1st place rankings may be enough all by itself to push Oregon past FSU.

Based on what teams have left on the schedule I would guess the pecking order is this:

1) undefeated Alabama
2) undefeated Oregon
3) undefeated FSU
4) undefeated Missouri
5) undefeated Ohio St
6) undefeated Baylor/Texas Tech
7) one loss (to LSU) Alabama

Both #1 and #4 can't occur, they'll face each other in the SECCG.
