I'm grew up in Chicago...what they did to Soldier Field is embarrassing...
LOL! Maybe they should clad it in Pewter. The recruits would love it and it would still have that historic flavor...
I guess I will avoid attending the April 18 A Day game this year. Will just watch on TV. It will be crazy with construction. I was hoping there would be a home series softball game, but the girls play at Ole Miss that weekend.
It should be fun to watch Mac, Bryce, and Taulia. I really want to see Paul Tyson too. Hopefully none of the players will get hurt either. This needs to be an injury free season (as much as possible), unlike the past 3 years. RTR

I am still thinking about it. Really want to go, but it depends on what the experience will be.
Just read that there will only be 30k-35k seats for the spring game. Guess I will have to miss this one. Maybe I'll see you guys during the season.
Question: why don’t they do a charity type drive for the A-day game? Like canned food for admission and donate the food to the local homeless shelters? Just wondering

Yeah, I told my wife yesterday that we won't be going. Just a bit too long a trip to be unlikely to make it in.
Anyone thinking that this will not be completed before our first home game? Sure sounds like it is already behind schedule...which is not unusual for any building project, especially one of this scope.
They will have them working 24/7 in June if they are worried it won't be done.
Wish I could find the quote, but I read that any shortcomings time wise will be made up with extra labor.
It also said that this will be done for the home opener...no alternative.

I did a couple of quick Google searches, and couldn’t find a link, either. But I do remember a statement from the contractor to he effect of what you mention: Essentially, there is no alternative.....it will be ready for the first home game.
The weather in the first 45 days or so of the new year has been unusually wet in Tuscaloosa. Still, there’s only a little sitework going on, and the stadium structure itself provides a lot of shelter. So I don’t know if the rain has much effect or not.
Maybe some of the engineers and/or architects on the board could offer some more informed opinions.

Shows that Tuscaloosa has gotten over 18 inches of rain YTD, vs. a normal expectation through yesterday of a little over 8 inches. Nasty wet, it rained last night against forecast, and there’s more expected later in the week.
