Probably the drinking. That and rich kids from the Dallas suburbs can be a bit arrogant...
You think they might have been out drinking at 2:00 AM?

I thought they were just innocent college kids on a late night study break.

Reminds me of an old Eddie Murphy comedy tape I used to listen to. In one segment, he was talking about the pope. He said he thought the pope was cool, because he went to Harlem. Murphy said "I'm a black man and I don't go to Harlem".

Or Chris Rock's routine about Martin Luther King Avenue.

If I drove by a Mcdonalds late at night and it was a bunch of black youths with their shirts off I would drive on. If I drove by a Mcdonalds late at night and their was a bunch of white youths with their shirts off hanging out I would pull in and get out of the car with a beer in my hand and ask what is going on?
I would not, but then I wouldn't be driving with a beer in my hand either...

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
There is a comedian who once said in answer to the question "What would you want if you were stranded on a desert island?" The reply: "a pretty white girl because they never stop looking for pretty white chicks."

Why the insertion of a joke into this thread? The same reason that the media pushes the white on black violence is the same reason they push the pretty missing white girl narrative. Ratings. Pure and simple.

White on black violence has two demographics guaranteed to watch. The black, disadvantaged viewer who has accepted the narrative that "the man" is keeping them down. The other is represented by many on this board who think it's all hooey and anyone in the projects deserves it and actually like it.

As an aside, many are ticked at Holder and Obama after Trayvon and this recent shooting. Not many people remember but it didn't become an issue for the president until the media inflamed the issue and the stuffed suits like sharpton fanned the disadvantaged populace (2 weeks after the shooting if I recall). My point is that while I don't think Obama treats all issues like this equally (ex black on white violence) he isn't allowed to remain silent by the media who once they find a story to milk force the issue to be addressed.
I'm not sure I follow this statement. Are you saying that "many on this board" believe the blacks "deserve" the violence simply because they're in the projects and enjoy the violence being bestowed upon them?

I know many who are very content in this very situation. They even will tell you so. They get a check, have a phone, free wi-fi etc. the majority here are black but I've also heard whites and Hispanics say similar. It destroys the work ethic and almost guarantees the perpetuation of the cycle of poverty. It is extremely sad and IMHO purposeful.

I guess it's more about the fact that many believe if you grow up poor it is your fault if you do not succeed because this is America and if they would only work hard they could be millionaires. That was a little hyperbolic, but not by much.

Regarding what is deserved, I get the distinct impression that many feel if you are poor and on the dole, it equals lazy. This also means that since you have chosen not to improve your station in life, being exposed to violence is your own fault. That isn't necessarily the same as deserving it I guess, but it isn't very far off.

There are thousands of cases where the poor have succeeded. So, it can be done. I do think there is a psychology affecting many of the poor, that they cannot overcome.

However, if you are resourceful, can get $5k in the bank, you can move your family out of the projects and into a place where you can be safe, get a job, and build a life. You might not be a millionaire, but you can make it.

Growing up poor is not your fault. Your kids growing up poor might be.

this problem wont be fixed until the handout mentality is shattered. right now we have done everything possible to create a violent underclass with our poverty policies. it will be interesting to see what people are willing to do to fix it.

So is it the mindless killing or the lack of media coverage that you are blaming the democrats for? Or both?

Both.

The liberal Dims for morphing LBJ's Great Society concept into the ridiculous political correctness that has brought our once great nation to it's knees, both morally and economically.

The media for not just allowing the liberal Dims to do their damage, but actively participating in the carnage.

I think you're way off base thinking that anyone on this board thinks to the extremes you're suggesting.

Those young white folks had been drinking all night. Clouded their judgement. If i pulled into anyplace that had 400 young folks of any color around and 40 of them were fighting in the parking lot, my tail lights would be disappearing into the distance.
Look out seebell, they just stole yore car!
Can one of you nice fellers give him a ride?
