Someone mentioned Community Tea in a pevious post and I was wondering what coffee you guys think is the best. Personally I don't like flavored coffees and I don't want sugar or sweeteners in my coffee. I like it either black or with some cream.

After a vist a few years ago to Lafayette La. I got spoiled with Community Coffee and I have not bought another brand since. I prefer the Hotel blend but I can never find it so I usually drink the medium or Between blend. What coffee do you guys prefer?

Community Coffee Dark Roast is the best coffee on this planet.

Cafe Crema out of Puerto Rico. Hands down, the best I've ever had. I used to make my dad send me a case of it every few months. I also enjoy any coffee with chickory in it. I'm assuming Community has chickory in it since it's out of Louisiana???

If I'm buying it in the groc. store, I tend to go for the local coffee companies' whole bean coffees.

If I have the time to order coffee, I've had good success with The Coffee Fool. This is one of my favorites from them: http://www.coffeefool.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=2080

Community Coffee gets high marks from me for ground coffee, but I tend to drink Folgers/Maxwell House half-blend for everyday use because 100% caffeine does a number on me if I drink it every day.

Same here and that is why I drink a lot of hot tea for breakfast. The hot tea is just as satisfying to me and is much easier on my system.

Community Coffee sells a chickory coffee called their New Orleans Blend. They also sell pure chickory to add to any coffee. If you like that flavor you might also like Seaport Coffee out of Texas. Nasty stuff to my taste buds but lots of Texans and Southwest Louisiana people like it. Back when I had my business we had a separate pot for those who drank Seaport.

I found the link interesting but tell me Slab, have had the Jamaican Blue Mountain? If so, I hope before the Japanese became willing to pay $100 per lb. I beg to wonder if a cafe were to pay $100 per a lb of grounds what would a patron pay for a cup? :Smiliz_Kingz_PDT_05

Some of the best cups of coffee I've ever had was pure Navy coffee out of a 50 cup perculator on a Quarter Deck while standing the Mid-Watch in Feb. Just a brief hint of JP-5 fuel to give a little gleem to it's surface and help lubricate the old digestive track.

Yep that was great coffee. I learned the trick of sprinkling a bit of salt on top of the grounds to take out the bitter taste. That was Navy coffee.

WOW! I guess living on an island does have another benefit. I buy Jamaican blue mountain coffee for about $8 euro at my market. It's dang good coffee.

About 5 years ago, I started having problems sleeping, and was in a lot of discomfort at night. The doctors first used the usual treatments, antibiotics, etc. Nothing worked.

I went to a specialist, and the first thing he asked me was, "Do you drink a lot of coffee?"

I had to quit cold turkey. Though, I've managed to sneak back up to the half-strength for regular days. I save the 100% stuff for weekends and holidays.

The going rate locally for Blue Mtn is around $28 a lb.

I've tried it before, and it's excellent coffee. But I wouldn't pay that much for coffee.

I've paid upwards to $20 a lb. for Kona. But that was a one-time lark.

I was told it was your conscious keeping you awake. ;)
