This is interesting from football rumor mill:

Auburn offensive coordinator Al Borges yesterday said, "I'd like to find out more about (SDSU), certainly."

I think Borges is and should be a hot commodity as a HC at the college level. I also think he would jump at the chance to get back to the west coast. RTR.

Hope that Al works out a house. With housing prices out there what they are, $1M a year is only a workingman's wage.

Newhousel? Gadzooks! Is this some Frankensteinian combination of Rick Neuheisel and David Housel? Ricks' head on Davids' body? Vice versa? The comedic possibilities are practically limitless . . .

All in fun, RJ.

Lol SDSU isn't much of a program. I predict he stays for now.
Low expectations.
Room to improve.
Sounds ideal for a first head coaching position.

However, Al Borges had initially accepted the head coaching position at Portland State when his boss and head coach Pokey Allen left, then changed his mind, saying he "didn't want to do this."

So, I don't think Al wants to be a head coach.

Have any of those who think Al wouldn't leave ever been to San Diego? For those that haven't, it basically makes most of the rest of the US seem kinda like Auburn. :)

Seriously, San Diego is worth taking the job for...no matter under what circumstances. RTR.

Neuheisel's name...

is tricky. It would be"little new house" if it were in High German (Neuhäuschen). "Heisel" is SW German (or some Swiss) dialect for the same. So "Newhousel" is not that far off. It all means "new house."
