Breaking news on USC

With Lame running the show, they might end up back before the committee before its all said and done.

I agree.
I for one suspect that U$C had a good idea what was coming and thats why Kiffin was hired. No decent coach would have taken the job with the NZAA sanctions looming. Its the only reasonable explanation for hiring that buffoon at a school like U$C, and only fitting seeing as he was there during the timeframe that the infractions ocurred.

The only bad part of this is in my part of the country there aren't any USC fans for me to get in their collective faces about this. So long for the next decade, suckers. :biggrin2:

Don't worry, I'll do enough for the both of us. I've heard enough of their stuff the past few years.

Now their cry is "the appeal will soften it."

Lame Kiffen is indeed the USC version of Mike Shula.
Only a tenth as nice and a tenth as classy.
They have to hire someone to coach through the mess coming their way.
Takes some of the wonder out of "How did a guy with his record land this gig?"

When the full effects of the scholarship reductions hit we will see how Kiffen manages injuries and 4th quarter stamina!

SportsByBrooks is reporting that Snoop Dogg and Will Ferrell may have had a hand in the demise of USC. . . This is going to get extremely interesting.

Snoop Dogg I can understand... he'll probably end up as the Luther Campbell (Rapper who was paying Miami players back in the day) of this scenario. Will Ferrell is surprising, although he is a huge USC fan.

I really wish they would have added one more year of post season ban. They will be able to recruit kids and tell them "after you redshirt a year, we'll be back to normal". A 3rd year of post season ban would have prevented that. Although, I'm confident that the Kiffen regime will find a way to increase those sanctions.

Talk about being in denial...gotta love some of the comments over on their board...

Riiiiight....

I lioved this one from Wearesc

Knowing that the ncaa had to make an example out of SC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and with alabama getting away scott free, how long will it take for SC to file a law suit against the ncaa? For what, I would say excessive power and ruling, and what alabama did and their lenency they had.

I believe a one year band from bowl games and 5 to 10 scholis would have been appropriate. But the ncaa has to find a scape goat and use the power to demonstrate that they are "still" in control.

NCAA ByLaw

Bylaw 13.1.1.3.3 says the following: “No release needed to contact SAs (student athletes) if school has postseason ban for the rest of their eligibility.” Bylaw 14.8.2 says this: “The COI (Committee on Infractions) can recommend a waiver to allow SAs to transfer and play immediately if ban is for the rest of their eligibility.” [Emphasis added.]

You're late to the party. ;)

The greatest of all revenge would be if Derek Dooley and Tennessee completely raided USC's JR and SR classes. Mitch Mustain's phone is probably ringing off the hook.

5 star recruits aren't usually looking for a redshirt year.
