Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

the rest of the SEC approves this signing and will applaud you bringing a cancer into your locker room. But hey, desperate teams and desperate coaches do desperate things.

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

I predict that Bryce Brown the nations #1 recruit will become a Vol. I know some will call cheating so be it. But I have been told we are it. What do you think guys?

Careful what you wish for, AllVol. You just might get it.

Bryce Brown might be a great talent, but your team has already been the victim of lack of focus in recent years, and his traveling circus will only make it harder to overcome that. I've got a great bridge in Brooklyn for sale, cheap, if you think the "handlers" and "advisers" and various other hangers-on (all with hands out) will simply evaporate just because he's in Knoxville. Worse, while the coaching staff might, maybe, have some control over Brown, they will have precisely zero control over the posse.

No matter how good he is, he's not worth the price whatever school lets him in is going to pay.

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

It's the nature of the beast that your rivals don't want you to load up on talent. However, I'm neutral re Bryce Brown & Tennessee. No argument re his athletic credentials. TBD whether Tenn can avoid tripping over the other baggage.

I'll put it this way... Assuming Bama did NOT have Richardson and Lacy coming in, and further assuming we had a scholarship available, I would NOT NOT NOT be pleased if we were recruiting Brown. IMO the potential for problems outweighs the potential benefit.

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

Good luck to UT. He sounds like a huge pain in the rear to me. But, then again, so does your coach, so all should get along great.

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

I think this belongs on the recruiting forum, but other than that. I think Tennessee has as good a shot as anyone at him, I'd be wary as most posts about him state this whole handler situation has gotten out of hand and just wreaks of a troublesome individual.

That old saying theirs no I in Team but there's definitely a me .. he's a me kinda guy well at least he comes off that way, time will tell though.

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

Miami was smart enough to wash this guy and his "agent" out, of course Tennessee is not smart enough for that. I predict he will be a huge bust, just because of his me attitude.

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

I wouldn't touch this guy and his ego, but I hope he does choose the viles. He'll fit right in that circus up there. Maybe for halftimes, they can have him and Yaw Yaw mix it up in a cage match. :eek2:

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

Bryce Brown is as close to Willie Williams as there has been since Willie Williams, in my opinion...
(1) Phenomenal talent, among the best in the nation
(2) "Getting the most" out of his recruitment - Bryce by stretching it out just for fun, and Willie for using his visits to rate the local lobster tail
(3) Everyone seems to expect them to be ticking time bombs even before enrolling.
(4) Both were committed to Miami, but will play somewhere else (although, granted, Willie did enroll at Miami originally).

They are not exactly alike, but if I had to put my money on a Top 10 prospect falling off the face of the earth, it's ol' Bryce Brown.

However, he's still got the talent to win a Heisman, so I won't write him off yet.

Just to clarify... As far as I know, Bryce hasn't been arrested, whereas Willie had been at this point. That's a pretty big difference.

Yea, I wouldn't write him off either. One of the things to me that's bee real telling is there hasn't been any complaints from folks that have played with/coached him as far as I know of.

Which means' there's a 50/50% chance that he's a good team player and does get along with the coaches. We've also seen video footage of him working hard in offseason training so we know he has the work ethic.

Again, I would agree that most of us think the biggest problem is the handler, cause it really isn't an coincidence that the two top backs he "handles" are still uncommitted at this point ... even though both of them did give a verbal commitment to schools before NSD.

I wouldn't be surprised if BOTH of them ended up at UT .. sorta like Clemson's version of Thunder and Lightning. Not saying that this will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

Being from Wichita and having a daugther who went to school with both brothers; I can tell you that we missed out a great linebacker in Authur.

As for Bryce; we need to be glad that he did not have Alabama on his list. While Bryce is a talent, his personality falls in the DeAngalo Evans, Maurice Clarett type of group.

(if you as who DeAngalo Evens is' check out Neb. Football back in the earliy
'90s. DeAngalo was the next Barry Sanders to come out of Wichita. He made demands of the coaching staff about playing time and his line's play. Let's just say his time at Neberaska was short, as it was at his next 2 schools.)

He has talent, but his guiding force is leading him down the wrong path. Where ever he goes; he will only last a year or two before he does something wrong that affects life.

His only chance to make it is if he is at Maimi with Arthur as an influnce.

I am not sold on Arthur's greatness. He hasn't done half of what was expected of him on a young Miami team. He is playing behind a lower rated LB. And he may be a great guy unlike Bryce but if I remember correctly Arthur had the handler first. This handler obviously has some kind of power over this family. I am ecstatic with the LB's and RB's we have. Miami and UT can have all the Brown's the want.

I agree this should go on the recruiting board....a UT board!!!:conf2:

HA!

Oku is more than likely waiting to see what Brown is going to do. But I fully believe that UT will get one or the other.

For the record, Richardson and Lacy are better backs than Brown and Oku. And that is truth. The only reason Lacy wasn't rated higher was grades. Watch Lacy's videos, they are unreal. And we all know how good Trent is. And better yet neither one of them are potential cancers to the team. Anyone else find it curious that Nick never so much as breathed in these RB's direction? Thats all the evidence you need. RTR.:BigA:

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

Based on what we know so far about Brown, I'm not sure any other SEC teams/fans are wringing their hands over this one as a big loss if it happens. I think there is equivalent talent level or better at that particular position coming in or already in place at BAMA, LSU, UF and Ole Miss without the potential headaches.JMO.

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

So if he chooses the Vols does that mean they jump to the #1 recruiting class in the nation?;)

I don't know anything about the kid but from what I can tell him and Kiffin are made from the same cloth. They both like the attention and spotlight. Sounds like a good fit to me. Make some more noise boys!!

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

whatever you do ALLVOL, just don't go away. your naive posts are serving as great entertainment for hundreds of bama fans nationwide.

are you sure your not an alias?

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

:BigA:Usually how well you recruit will determine how well you do on the field but not all ways !! Look at the Utes who went undefeated . I remember the announcers saying that they did not have one player on the field that Alabama would have recruited! We make to much of how we are ranked in recruiting services. I will take a Saban recruit anyday over the opinion of Rivals or Scout! I think Brown will be a catch for anyone if his attitude does not present problems! Anyone who is not in the top 5 is certainly not going to jump to # 1 in recruiting by getting this kid! I think Hester was a 3 rated player that Saban recruited and look at him, look at Demco Ryans, and I hate to say anything associated with the Barn but look at Bo Jackson,I am pretty sure he was a 3 rated player all most everyone missed on! It will take more than Bryce Brown to change Tenn or the barn into the upper level of the SEC!

I hope tennessee gets him. Really. :BigA:

As far as some of us calling cheating on ut's part that is incorrect. Three violations by Kiffin before he has ever coached a down isn't cheating, he is just stupid.

Exactly what I was thinking. Let 'em have him, he's more trouble than he's worth IMHO.

Re: My Prediction on Bryce Brown

With David Oku signing with Tennessee, I think you can close the book on Brown going to the Vols.

I imagine that Brown is now realistically down to Oregon, LSU, and Miami.

I know his brother is at Miami and he verbally committed there, yet it seems like odd things have been going on with Miami. Supposedly they was not going to re-offer his scholarship.

I guess he could possibly still come to Knoxville. I really think he will go to LSU.
