BREAKING Buchner to start- per reports

The move HAD to happen. Milroe's QB play is the worst QB play we've had in 20 years. And thats not just a saying. His starts are only beaten out by Brandon Avalos back in the early 2000s.

Hopefully, Buchner will play well and the team will rally around him. I'd hope to see at least 3 quarters of action much like Milroe got in game 1 to get settled in and run the offense.

I also think its best to move Milroe away from the immediate backup spot, Milore should be the 3 at best. Let Buchner not be looking over his shoulder so to speak.

Our CFP starts now meaning we can’t afford to lose from here on out.

There needed to be a change imo just to see what we have behind Milroe and if Buchner is indeed that guy that doesn’t turn the ball over in crucial situations in big games then so be it.

Regardless of whose the QB though, the OL needs to play better and I hope McLaughlin can fix his snapping issues.

Idk about that. From the sounds of it Simpson isn't at all ready and the other option would be Lonergan who last I had read was working mostly with the scout team. If Buchner can't handle Milroe behind him then he probably isn't going to be very good anyway.

Fair Point.

I was more referring to the fact that its very clear to me that Milroe is NEVER going to be the guy here. I'm actually not sure he would be the guy at very many programs across the country. So if that is the case, i'd rather see Simpson get that slot to improve and get better.

If we want to have a small package with Milore in it, i'm ok with that. But those need to be simply Wildcat type plays with a shot play or two built in.

IMO Milroe has not only played his way out of being a starter, he's played his way out of being the backup as well.

Figuring every quarterback we’ve had since 07 has played professional football, he’s got elite quarterbacks to compete with.

He hit some nice passes over the last couple of weeks, where a comment like this feels exaggerated.

I don’t know if he has the ability to read a Defense very well, but the guy has skills

Not from me. Im actually not expecting the second coming. I was just expecting to see actual QB play. I assume we'll get this out of Buchner. If we get average QB play, it'll be a big upgrade to our team.

If we can get actual quarterback play coupled with actual offensive line play, we're back in the hunt. But if both of these do not happen, not much is going to improve against average, to above-average SEC teams.

He clearly has a good deep ball. I think he could play a lot of places but maybe needs a different style offense. He could probably win some teams a lot of games. The problem at Alabama is its about winning championships. And I'm not sure he can get us to that point at least not with where he currently is.

Problem is I'm not sure Buchner can either. Guess we'll find out though.

Unfortunatley being able to read a D and process what you see is one of the key skills to be a QB. He did hit 2-3 deep balls. Thats about it. Great athlete, great kid. Cant play QB at this level. Syracuse, Louisana Monroe, places like that, i'm sure he'd be a great fit. High level D1 football. No way.

I'll put it this way. I dont think there is one school in the SEC he'd start at right this second. That includes Vanderbilt. And there are a handful of places in the SEC right now.. where he wouldnt even be the 2nd stringer.... and he shouldnt be that here.
