Can Ohio State beat Penn State?

I think we should all be pulling for Penn State...
If we can make it to the championship game, I'd much rather play Penn State than USC, Texas, Oklahoma, or just about any other possibility.
Plus, any college football lover should do anything it takes to keep Ohio State out of the discussion of getting to the title game. Especially if USC is the other team.

I meant to add... Penn State losing a game will not likely do anything to our chances of getting to the title game.
If we go undefeated, we're in. If we lose a regular season game, but win the SEC championship, we'll be in over a one-loss Penn State. If we lose the SEC championship, we're not going anyway.

Not unless Terrell Pryor can find more accuracy and have a big game passing.

Penn State's D should be able to contain Wells and Pryor in the running game. Oh, they will do their damage but so will the Penn State offense. Expect a good game...Penn St. by 7.

If Bama is the only undefeated team, or one of two undefeated teams, then there will be no "controversy" as to the BCS championship game. I'd just as soon there not be a discussion that Penn State is undefeated too - even if they are left on the outside looking in.

That said, it's been a while since PSU beat OSU in Columbus. I think OSU wil have to play very, very good ball, but they can beat Penn State. I'd like to see it, myself.

If we lose to LSU we cant get to the SECCG or the NC, so that being said we really need an LSU loss this weekend to give us some cushion.

Playing in Columbus...yes. It`s a double edged sword. An Ohio St. win will only give them and USC a huge boost in the polls. The only thing holding both USC and Ohio St. down now is the computer rankings because of the weak schedules. It wouldn`t hurt if Oregon St. folded like a cheap card table and lost out.

Penn St. has been impressive. There's a lot of speed on that team. If they jump out early I don't think Ohio St. can play catchup ball. If it's close or tied going into the 4th quarter, I think the Buckeyes win. PSU is only a 2 point favorite, and Vegas is pretty sharp.

Ohio St. in a squeaker.

tOSU is the first REAL opponent they've played all year AND the only REAL opponent they have on the schedule.

And what's sad is even the best tOSU team would finish 5-7 in OUR conference during a down year FOR ALL TEAMS!

Penn State has looked good, but they haven't played one team with a winning record yet.

Michigan has comparable talent, but they're in disarray because of the coaching change.

Wisconsin seems to have just hung it up this year.

No-one else that Penn State has played is anywhere near their league.

Penn State will either prove that they belong in the NC discussion this weekend or they'll be exposed.

I would like to see Penn State win but I feel that osu will win. Since we are speculating, I would like to see the final BCS end like it is now and we play the long horns for all the marbles. That would give us chance at #13 and to beat a team that we zero wins against. :)

None of this matters if Alabama goes undefeated. We will be in.

BUT, since I live in the Columbus, OH area... I am sort of pulling for Penn State since I don't want to deal with the OSU fans after a win. They "get no respect" apparently.

It should be fun Saturday... I get to cover tailgating... but will do so in the same Alabama gear I wear every Saturday.

All of you guys who are so confident that Bama can't be jumped by an undefeated Penn State might not realize how big a boost they'll get if they go into Columbus and beat Ohio State. You might just see them jump Bama in the Harris Poll and Coach's poll. Do you guys really want to have to rely on the computers?

Don't underestimate the amount of sympathy there is out there for JoePa
