I'll try to keep this short and to the point, if I can! Wasn't sure where to put it so I'll leave it up to the Mods! Anyway.......

At the ballgame (PSU) Saturday, I was carrying seats and cokes up the stairs, I had to stop and catch my breath a little [some tokens of 'Nam].

As I was getting ready to gather everything and proceed on up, two young coeds stopped in front of me and proceeded to take the cokes and seats up to my wife. To my surprise they were sitting right in front of us! We had a great evening watching the game and talking to them and their boyfriends (I assume)!

Actually my point is you always here about all the unruly kids on campuses around the country, it just felt great to actually see and talk to those youngsters!

Especially without them feeling sorry for us just because we are getting a little older and maybe a little frail. I also must be getting forgetful also, 'cause I just can't remember their names! Maybe I'll see them again at the UF game!

I guess this is just a long-winded way of saying thanks to those kids, and great to see that the Capstone is being well represented!
THANKS!! :BigA:

Glad to hear you had a good time because of courteous people...

I refuse to tell you how I felt about the snoozers I sat around. If you're ever in the upper deck with all the folding chairs, don't make noise when the opposing team is on offense, or cheer at any point in the game, or even sing the fight song, or stand up, because you will be told to set down and shut up and receive several mean looks... clapping your hands is tolerated (because that's all they did).

Well I did have that happen once and told 'em to go to florida and play shuffleboard, 'cause this was a college football game, and with what I had gone through to get to that particular game (10/01/'05 UF Game), there was no-way I was gonna keep quiet!

Now that was a game I'll never forget!

Of course that was 5 years ago and I was a little younger, and the agent orange hadn't affected me to the extent it is now!

They paid for their seat and you paid for yours if you don't like the company move, they probably have just as many mean things to say about you.

Good for you for saying so, BamaBuc. We had several students stop by our tailgate on Saturday. They were a good batch of bright and polite kids. I know something like the last three freshman classes at Alabama have been the most academically talented (based on ACT and HS GPA) in the University's history (I guess going back to whenever the ACT started). Student population is at an all time high, and so is student community involvement. You are right, great things are happening at the Capstone.

Happen to me once, too. I used a buddy's Tide Pride tickets once and experienced the same thing. The lady sitting next to my wife fell asleep in the third quarter. The problem is that it was a good game!!!!

We, too, stood to cheer and yell and we were, suddenly, amongst lots of evil stares!!! I like it much better in the lower levels where folks stand and cheer the whole game, no seats necessary.

I'm sure they did, and forgive me, but I like to cheer and sing the fight song, when I get the rare opportunity of going to the game and not get evil stares and told nasty things. If that's a crime then the NCAA should strictly enforce a new law, just because a bunch of snobs are too good to do anything but clap their hands.

Other than that, I wasn't saying or doing anything offensive or blocking anyone's view. And what you said could be applied to those snobs as well. I didn't say anything to anyone, despite being yelled at all game long, though I was more than ready to...

I'm by no means rich and I don't have the luxury of buying season tickets, going to the game, acting like a zombie, and then leaving at half-time. After that experience, I'd rather stay at home than sit around a bunch of season ticket holders who have the money to blow and not appreciate what they hold in their hand.

I've been all over that stadium and never once believed those kind of people actually existed, but they do and when you experience it first hand, it is stunning to say the least!

It really makes you think twice about our fanbase and defending them whenever an outsider begins to bash them, that's for certain...

I hate threads that get turned around like this. Fans bashing their own fans just isn't right and I'm not going to give you guys a soapbox to do it on.
