Well - to be fair - it's never been the admin guys making this nonsensical comment. It's Big Ten fans who channel their inner Boise St/UCF personalities to concoct some way to say, "Well, we're better than all those Southern teams, we just lose because of the weather. So let's cite something that never happens and say the South is afraid. Sure we can't prove it, but so what?"
It's USUALLY the hangers-on in that conference that go that route. A few Buckeye fans, yes, but not most of them.
