Maybe we just shouldn't take the short trip to Athens and just forfeit the game.
Nobody is making ‘no hope’ comments imo.

People are giving reasonable opinions based off of the last 6 road games and Week 1 this year and visible problems with the OL and Defense and Running game.

We have reached the ‘show me’ stage with this staff and especially with Road Games.

I would bet almost anything JessN will pick UGA to outright win.

Will he get eye rolled?

We seem to play UGA differently than we do against anyone else. If we get into a shootout I like our chances because I think we have the better qb. Running Back 1 is back so that will be a mental as well as physical boost for the team. We need this game. If we come out on fire we can win. We come out like we did against FSU and game over by halftime and it won't be pretty. Come out fired up and on fire and we've got a chance.
Once this season is over, CKD has GOT to do something about both sides of the LOS and D Coordinator.
Wommack appears to be a good mid major coordinator/coach but he seems to be in over his head where he is now. I don't dislike the guy but team before individuals.

Georgia fans are apprehensive due to historical results against bama, and rightfully so

as a Georgia fan, my main feel good about this game isn’t LOS, QB, matchups…. It’s that it’s at home for Georgia at night. I think this game could be played as a coin flip on neutral territory

so my optimism as a Georgia fan rests on home field advantage as silly as that sounds

I like our chances in this game. We can win it and very well might. But yes, we can lose to Vandy at home or any other game for that matter. Consistency is very illusive with this staff.

The thing I see about our defense. It wasn’t designed to be a stonewall . downhill run teams could be kryptonite. Our Dlinemen play gaps, not stonewalling head up on offensive linemen. The best for our defense is our offense is complimentary, puts pressure on the opposing offenses by scoring points and getting them out of their run game.
Luckily, Georgia isn’t a downhill run team this year, except on the goal line with that 244 lb RB

Playing in Athens at night coming off a bye will be a challenge. UGA is tired of Bama winning.

Every time we won Georgia was favored. If Grubb and Deboer play fast then stay fast the entire game we have better WR's and it might be enough is a close one.

I try to be optimistic so Bama 34 Georgia 30. Roll Tide Go Bama.

I would. If I had to bet money, I'd say we are much, much more likely to get a UGA 45, Bama 20 score than a Bama 30, UGA 27 score.
Ty (and the receivers) better know who the hot route is and Bama linebackers are going to have to get into the right hole and tackle like their lives depend on it once they get there.

We don't have to have a great running game, but we do need to make UGA at least respect the threat of the run. If we do that, we have a good chance. If we can't, we become one-dimensional and the chances of a win are greatly diminished.

I do note that the betting line has gone down from 4 to 2.5 or 3, depending on the source. So the betting public is favoring us. TIFWIW.

I think Vandy is capable of beating us regardless of how we play this week……..damn, I don’t think I’ve ever thought that, much less expressed it, in my entire life!
I think Vanderbilt is good, however, regardless of the result of this week, I do not think Vanderbilt is that good. Their only quality win is against a South Carolina team who is very very overrated. Yes this weekend is crucial, but we still have to believe that there is a slight chance that Deboer will turn it around.

The 4-2-5, similar to the 3-3 stack, relies on penetration to disrupt the run game. Wommack has been very aggressive this year with his blitz package and bringing 5 and 6 man pressures. I don't see this changing come Saturday.

I know many on here have pointed out the lack of size we have up front but that was by design. Wommack prefers more hybrid D-lineman as opposed to the traditional gap eaters that Saban went after, ie Terrance Cody. This game, much like many we will play this year, will be a battle of speed vs. size/strength. We held up well against Wisconsin's massive OL and I think we will also give Georgia some issues as long as we stay gap sound.
