CFN: Florida State and the "Rigged" College Football Playoff: Daily Cavalcade

Now reporting 26 opt outs and 7 in portal.
And; they don't mine leaving their team mates and fans hanging and probably going to be embarrassed. They could have manned up and tried to beat Georgia to show they were worthy; now just a bunch of whining, selfish quitters.
Last year Alabama had no opt outs and 3 first round picks and 6-8 more draftees play. Tell you something about team culture difference.

Lines up to 19.5; that is not enough unless Kirby has mercy.
Read that the tickets scalpers are taking a beating; too bad.

What else can college football do to kill off the bowl games?
I swear the lack of critical thinking skills by some of the policy makers just makes me shake my head.
does anyone remember when in 2013 they would actually keep the 15-yard penalty even if the targeting penalty was overturned and the player was allowed to stay in the game? How in the world that ever got approved is beyond me. They were basically saying your team still get penalized for something the refs proved your player didn't actually do.

If the targeting penalty is overturned, it was still a personal foul...

It is the same principle as having both 5 yard and 15 yard facemask penalties, except it's ejection instead of 10 yards.

I respectfully disagree, you can say someone accidentally or slightly grabbed a facemask and still argue it's a penalty. It's hard to argue that something is a penalty when it was proven by video evidence and ref review that it didn't actually happen.

But a personal foul is not the same thing as targeting. They often go together, but they aren't the same. You can have a personal foul with or without targeting. This happens all the time, and it makes sense.

The way it is similar is that the severity is a judgment call with specific criteria to look for.

Maybe FSU is planning to forfeit before kickoff due to all the opt outs? Either way their new name should be the SemiOptOuts.
I have to wonder what their fanbase thinks of all the opt-outs. The players may think they're making a statement by showing they're ticked off big time at not getting selected but I think they're showing they don't care about their fans. They'd still have a chance at an undefeated season if they all played and I'd think a lot of their fans would have wanted them all to play against Georgia to try and make the statement that they should have been selected.

They probably blame that on Alabama, too.

I think its funny because they bragged about their 15 straight top 5 finishes for years. I guess Now they brag about quitting. I love the leap in logic that some of them have that going undefeated and not getting anything is somehow so different than being on the cusp of a playoff spot with 1 loss and being left out. Like the disappointment is so much different to the players. I Hate to give Auburn any kind of credit, but they didn't quit after getting left out in 2004. Ohio state didn't quit in 2015 with one loss after getting left out.

Only Harrison is considered sitting out our bowl game. We have a similar culture - you play for your brothers and to help next year's team set the tone for the following season.
