CFP seedings 1st edition 2025

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I have a confession. I think we drop one more game at least. Idk if it will be in the SECCG or before then but my gut says we drop a game and likely fall outside the top 4.

That said, we have a very good shot at hosting a playoff game which would be fun and quickly jump to the top of my list of things to spend money on.

Isn't that Memphis right now.
In this stupid poll none of the G5 teams are ranked, so we actually don't really know. Anything that is said now is merely speculation and assumption. All of these G5 teams have pathetic schedules and there are several teams that only have one loss. Memphis, Navy, North Texas, San Diego State, and James Madison all have one loss then there is a second tier with 2 losses that could sneak in as well. The committee did not list them, instead they give us a fake top 12 that doesn't mean anything.

You know, I realize it's not aTm's fault how the schedule falls, and they did schedule one with Notre Dame, but it's also proof of what Coach Bryant used to call "schedule luck". ATM managed to catch a year where Auburn AND Florida AND LSU AND Texas are.....well, not what they usually are at least most of the time. (Seriously - tell folks just 4-6 years ago that this is ATM's schedule and everyone would have said, "Man, that's brutal").

That being said, I'm not sold on them, either. Sure, they scored 41 on the Irish, but Purdue scored 30, well above their ppg/average of (excluding that game) 21.1.

Do I think they're good?
Yes.

Do I think they're "there" yet?
Not a chance.

And as programs like Alabama and Ohio State can tell you - getting up there for a week or two is one thing (even Mississippi State pulled that off, spending 4 weeks at #1).

It's quite another ONCE THE PRESSURE IS ON to sustain it.
