I'm guessing that the payout for even a oneanddone NCAA visit is more than what we would get than - for example - a three game run in the NIT.

That aside, in terms of doing more good for next season, the NIT might be better for the long-term health of the team and program.

I'm not so sure a NIT visit is what this team needs - as somebody stated yesterday - success in the NIT doesn't correspond with success for the following year. I think we need to go to the NCAA tournament and try and win a game or two (crazier things have happened) and then, get the upcoming recruiting class in here and have a really good year next season (Green, Releford, Mitchell, Steele, Hankerson) is a nice solid foundation and with a few quaility signees (which we are going to get), we should be a handful. Any "extra games" give our young guys good tournament experience. Not an opinion.

I'd rather play those games in the NCAA tournament as opposed to the NIT. Just because we go play in the NIT doesn't mean we're going to make it to the Garden. I'd like for our players to get used to playing in the big dance as opposed to playing in the NIT

Tournament play is tournament play. There are no guarantees!

I've been watching the SEC finals and enjoying the Wildcats beating the Gators, thus far. In fact, I hope they beat them by 20 to remind the committe that we're not the only team that couldn't handle UK this weekend.

There is some difference between playing at home in the NIT and playing at an NCAA tournament site. I'd rather the players get the NCAA experience.

I've felt this way (a little) but I hate to see UK and their coach take another SEC Tournament.

It's all "do or die"! I think they should move the NIT to "double elimination", that way you would be assured at least more than one game!

The Big East is projected to get in 11 teams. I thought Tennessee beat Pitt--could there be a little over hyping of the Big East.

Also UConn just got hit with major basketball violations by the NCAA--Why are they taking up a tournament spot?

This thread is probably done but you bring out a point I've wondered about. "Just how good is the Big East?"

If Tennessee can go beat Pittsburgh, Villanova, etc....they can't be that good.
