I don't think either are better. My point was regarding God determining individuals behavior at birth. I used the sociopath as an example. Nothing more. I even said in the post I was not equating the two.

I was trying to point out that I did not believe God was determining anyone's behavior at birth regardless of said behavior.

A poster was saying the gay individual was made so by God at birth and thus should be treated with love, etc. I said God didn't determine anything at birth. The human brain for whatever mostly unknown reason determines much of what we become. Not all, but much. That's all.

But seriously, I think in the not too distant future we will be stunned by the degree to which genetics determines behavior. Very interesting research these days, and I consider genetics to be the Creator speaking firsthand.

Paul makes it pretty clear in Galations that we are not to follow the law of the Old Testament anymore, in any way. He goes so far as to say that it was "nailed to the cross" when Christ died. And that is pretty damning. Under the law, dying by the cross was seen as the ultimate sinful death. It was, in essence, the worst way to go from a spiritual stand point. Not only did Jesus himself go that way, but he took the law with him. At least, that's how I interpret Paul's writings in Galations.

Again, I go back to the point, love not sin. Love, not law. Certainly just my opinion.

The OT contains moral, civil, and ceremonial law. The ceremonial law was fulfilled on the cross and is no longer applicable. Civil laws changed with civilization. God's moral law was not abolished or fulfilled. I got in on this thread a little late, so I won't comment on Chickfila. It has been thoroughly discussed

The Obama Administration helped oust Mubarek by not helping Mubarek and had nothing to do with the Muslim Brotherhood winning power there, as the Administration made its preference of other parties well known.

Not sure where the $1.5 billion claim comes from.

I think the link 92tide posted on about page 46 of this thread addresses the "moral" aspect of this very well from a Christian perspective. It's worth a visit IMO. the video is an hour long but very well done. Most might disagree with his conclusions but it is how I feel about the topic.

Can you blame them for being skeptical? Our policies in the Middle East generated a lot of the turmoil there.
