Chizik set to take over

Man I have not been able to sleep since this news first came out, we gotta do something and fast maybe hire their LB coach or beat them 36-0 ....... Wait a minute....................

Gonna be hard to recruit anywhere when they fall flat on their face this year and Chester Cheezy will be shown the door sooner than he thinks obviously~!~

Maybe Cheez-whiz should be recruited players from the swim team to play for him. Because God knows Auburn's football program is a sinking ship, and they need all the swimmers they can get.

Auburn will get 50-60% of the in state recruits that grew up as Auburn fans (in an Auburn family)......Bama will get 100% of the ones that grew up Bama fans and 90% of the ones that aren't associated with either program.
Auburn will get some decent recruits from out of state that their in state schools don't have room for and will consistently win 7-8 games a year, with maybe a 10 win season once each decade.......if the assistants can get Cheezit above the dismal coaching he did at Iowa (5-19). The aubie advantage is gone and they will not regain it anytime soon.

The current aubie attitude is SOP for this time of the year......it happens (hope) all the time!!!!!

Small correction: 100% of the Bama fans that we want.

There will be an occasional recruit we want, that has die hard albarn familly and grew up a barn fan, that will choose them regardless of how poor they are doing.
Needless to say, there is no danger of Cheezit locking up Alabama as long as we stay out of trouble.

I was just pointing out that lifelong Bama fans do go to Auburn, but those are almost always ones that we didn't want/offer. Clint Mosely (I think that's his name), the QB that just signed with Auburn, is a recent example of that.

Well when you sign highly rated guys who will not make it no matter what it all works out in the end because they will never step foot on campus. That QB they signed will never make it in the SEC and probably not a Div I college not for lack of talent either....... Wait till their actual recruits get on campus and they might be in the top 40 if they are lucky~!!~

that's what I've been saying. its all show until Fall arrives and they get disappointed again and again....

Auburn winning 7-8 games is hard for me to fathom before another cups of coffee this morning. Chizik took a pitiful 4-8 Iowa St. team and made it worse with a 5-19 record. He couldn't even match the 4 wins by the coach they got rid of. Occasionally win 10 games? Maybe lose 10 games ;) Auburn is in for some tough times and they won't even need NCAA probation for the bad times ahead. :)

I can't blame the folks at the barn for playing up recruiting, it is the first real positive traction they have had with their fan base so they need to keep it going as long as possible.

I predict that they will have a better recruiting class next year than the last few Tubs classes due to just not being as lazy.

Also, if what everyone expects about us being selective in 2010 is true, I suspect the aub will land more in-state kids than they have done in the past few years. This will immediately be pointed to as evidence of how their class was better than ours, despite what ever talent difference actaully exists.

My final prediction is that Chizook won't be around to coach that class for the full four years.

I hate it for Clint Mosely that he ended up at aubern, he is too nice a guy to have that happen to him but he made the choice. South Alabama would have been much better for him IMO.

You've got it all wrong,B.T. With P.F. Dye in control it's gonna be awbern football '80's style again!

I thought the same thing when Dye was gushing the way he was when Cheezit was hired. With Dye's coaches and Yella Wood money, it's back to "Keep it down home, Cuz!"

Having said that, it is smart for Cheezit to say he is going to take over the state, and put that much effort into a talent pool that is especially low. He will fill his class with kids from Alabama that nobody else wants...then say "See, we took over the state!" Why even recruit out of state when you know thats where Richt, Myer, Miles and Saban will be.

He may not be as dumb as he looks...what with that big ole jaw of his...

LOL, I wholeheartedly agree. I was just giving the aubies the benefit of the doubt that their new HC could do a complete turnaround from his previous HC experience and be successful for them. I was referring to the VERY BEST scenerio for the barners......whomever their HC might be.
I am not, in the least, worried about the aubies catching up with Bama in recruiting OR on the FOP. They may get 20-25 players out of Alabama (and say they "out recruited Bama" instate) but it will be after Bama has had our pick.:BigA:
