Personally I don't want to lose Tommy Rees at this point. It's very hard to constantly be replacing coaches and Milroe seems to have found his groove with Rees calling the shots.

I agree. What he learns under CNS will help him more than early experience as HC at Indiana.

I think Nick asks for a 2 year commitment from all his new hires on a handshake deal. Does not mean he cannot leave but he simply agreed not to. We will see.

Indiana is a reason not to give someone a big pile of money for one good season.

Michigan State is another.

I have no doubt Sparty was having buyer's remorse after signing Tucker to a contract similar to Jimbo Fisher's. They were looking for some way....any way....to cut him loose without paying the monster buyout.

Then he served them up a doozy on a silver platter.

The barn with Malzahn and Chizik are still other examples.

aTm did the same thing with Sumlin as they did with Fisher, just not with so large a contract.

I think he doesn’t mind if the job is a promotion, like getting a head coaching job.

Of course, there is nothing stopping Rees from leaving and taking whatever job he wants and if Saban doesn’t like it, too bad.

Indiana head coaching job will hurt his career, not help it. He would be fired within a few years and back at OC somewhere

If Day loses to khakis again to make it 4 in a row he might get a shot at Ohio State. That is the type of job he needs to jump into.

Lebby is married to Art Briles’ daughter. Lebby is his son in law. A lot of OU folks were not happy when Venables hired him as OC.

Then Briles actually showed up earlier this year at an OU game dressed in Sooner gear. According to most reports, Lebby was told by the AD that Briles was not welcome to any on campus event.

So Lebby is not without some associated baggage.

I wouldn't expect Ohio State to be looking at Rees to replace Day before we start talking about him to replace Saban, and I don't see that being soon. He has a lot to prove.

From what I read, Briles came onto the field after a game wearing an Oklahoma shirt. This caused a big stink.

If that had happened here, I wouldn’t have had a big problem with it. However, it is something that would have to be cleared with Saban first. I get Briles is family and if he was just Joe Blow nobody would care. But given his history Lebby should know this is not a case where forgiveness is easier than permission.
