Coaching carousel 2025-26

I have heard so much on the Kiffin topic that I no longer believe anything he or anyone else reports or says regarding jilting Ole Miss for LSU. I feel for his Ole Miss players, but we all know life isn't always fair and things don't always go the way you want them to. It was obviously a decision he made and he and LSU will sink or swim with his hiring.

snarkers gonna snark. This is a big meh to me. You call on those you respect and trust when you need advice. CNS has ALWAYS supported his assistants. This, to me, is no different.

That said, Kiffin wants to use the cover of Saban and Carroll as his cover for why he left Ole Miss ("they told me to take the LSU job") when I bet that's not exactly the case. A post above says that Saban told him "think long and hard before leaving OM".

The way Lane hinted it , he was inferring Nick said it was a better job than Alabama.
I think Nick really appreciates his time at Bama and really enjoys the community, but he's said multiple times before that his biggest regret is leaving LSU. For a man that's driven by achievement, he'll always have a "what if" floating in the back of his mind. I don't like that Nick has been that vocal about it, but it is what it is.

When CNS left LSU, he had that program humming on autopilot. I mean two complete IDIOTS won a national championship after he departed. In this new NIL era, Indiana is proof positive that if you have enough $, anyone can do it. I agree with several posters and I take anything Lane says with a grain of salt.

It appears now that the petulant child(Kiffin) is going to "allow" most of his offensive assistants to coach during the CFP. Of course he had to add that he "contacted" the CFP committee and told them to go lenient on Ole MIss in the rankings. I have a suspicion that this is just more of his narcissism....because I'm sure the rankings had already been formulated.

He never met with his players on Sunday about his his decision to leave. The Leadership on the team went to meet with him but he refused. That says a lot. I personally verified it from the source!

I compared his exit to fRAN's departure from Alabama to Texas A&M in 2002, and I stand by it. He quit on his team. He lied to them, led them on, used them for his own personal gain.

He will live to regret this. Or maybe not, as narcissists tend to struggle with honest self-reflection.

Kiffen "claims" the A.D. would not let him meet with players. I don't think he said bye to Juice either

Bingo. He wins a national championship at LSU. Great! Even two idiots won NCs before you.

And he had better win at least one if he's worried about anything in his legacy. Up to now, his legacy has been to burn down the house on his way out the door from programs, or get fired....which is what happens to nearly every LSU coach not named Saban. I think Bill Arnsbarger was the last coach there that didn't get shown the door against his will.

I think he flames out in spectacular fashion.

If he’s not coaching perennial Top 5 teams and winning a NC the LSU fan base will be much harder on him than OM’s

They are absolutely unhinged as a fanbase.

I read so much on Monday where they displayed a complete detachment from reality.

Multiple folks were saying that LSU was THE premier job in CFB

Not Alabama or even tOSU….. LSU

LOL

When Kiffin is more likely going 10-2 or 9-3 and never winning any kind of Championship and/or getting bounced in the 1st round they will dig up and announce all his dirty little exploits in BR.

The noise will be so distracting and offensive to Lane’s narcissistic little lizard brain that he will go full on self destructive to himself and the program and in 5 years or less they will be right here again doing a HC search.

I can’t wait to watch this train wreck.
