Spectacular indictment of Kiffin as an individual: he had zero confidence Ole Miss would beat Georgia, now look what a mess Ole Miss is in for getting back in bed with him.
I dont know why we should try to get involved to try lure Charlie Weis to Bama as OC. He doesnt need to coach under Kiffin shadow anymore...

Yeah, Kiffin's ego can't stomach Golding winning the NC and getting credit for it. Kiffin would get a $1M bonus from LSU, but his ego is worth more than $1M, so he is showing his butt...

I think Weis would be an upgrade over Grub.

There are at least 25-30 OC’s better than Grubb at P4 schools.

I think what we’ve found out is that Penix and the Wash WR group made the CKD/Grubb Offense look way better than it actually is and the PAC-12 schedule probably threw in an assist.

He is really bad at game planning and making adjustments and game flow.

He’s even worse about calling the most brain dead high risk low % stupid cute trick plays that kill drives and snuff out momentum.

He’s the 1st guy that needs a pink slip.

Did we run any quick slants this year?

Yup..I hope Grubb's gets fired from Alabama, for the exact same reason, he was fired from Seattle last year because the Seahawks couldn't run the ball with Grubb's as OC..

Seems like our inability to run the ball is a definite coaching problem with Grubb's.as our OC..

We couldn't run the ball last year so CKD goes out and gets an OC that just got fired because he can't run the ball. Not sure what the expectation was but that doesn't sound like a winning strategy.

So Grubb wasn’t the issue. Grubb called running plays, execution was horrendous. So there’s three possibilities:

Players can’t execute the system
Coach can’t effectively implement the system
Both of the above.

Linemen are being encouraged to leave, so that is option one. We will see if option two plays out as well (I hope so).

Grubb has his issues, and I’ve soured on him a bit, but I’m pretty sure he’s not the reason the running game is atrocious.

And to think Saban had been trying to hire him as our OC for years. LOL! He's no better than Billy O'Brien was when he was here.

Grubb's playcalling sequences killed a many of drive this past season.

This^^^. I can't wrap my head around this part.

I *think* CNS is prone to being impressed by X’s and O’s theory.

It’s one of the only explanations for why he held onto Golding for so long.

Grubb might be able to go to a white board and explain in detail what their Offense does and how it can outscheme other teams in theory.

It probably looks impressive.

It did look impressive when I was going over the stuff they did in Washington.

But I just don’t think it’s translating to the SEC

Plus Grubb specifically does not seem to be able to make on the fly adjustments after opposing DCs have figured out his go to tendencies.

He’s also way too reliant on the need to outsmart the other guy with stupid trick plays.

He goes away from things that are working for inexplicable reasons.

It’s almost like he tries to kill momentum and do something new because he’s bored and has to keep outsmarting the other guy.

I don’t know exactly what his deal is but he’s not a Good OC and definitely not consistent at finding something that works.

I’m no football expert by any means and I’m not defending Grubb but with all the O/line rotations used, lack of push, missed blocks, whiffed blocks, pulls without contact, etc kinda begs the question could the personnel execute the plan. Was much of the blame on Grubb and CKD or lack of the right tools in box? And our RB’s were really reluctant a lot to HIT THE HOLE and I’m pretty sure it was largely due to lack of confidence that the hole would develop or stay open. I’ve seen a lotta posts and comments about getting CKD’s players will make his offense better. Again, I’m no expert. It’s a real question on my part.
