Cool Daddy Deep Fryer?

You might find yourself liking fried food better. These deep fryers do a pretty good job of frying food correctly instead of frying food that soaks up grease. I fry quite a few things even though my wife doesn't care that much for fried food she will eat some or steal a few bites of something I make for myself.

Fries, the real kind you fry twice.
Fried shrimp and fish nuggets, oysters, scallops, crab balls
Hush puppies
onion rings or try red bell pepper rings for something good and different red is sweeter than green
Tempura - tempura batter anything from chicken, shrimp, green beans, squash, egg plant, cauliflower, onion, peppers, fennel, you get the picture
chicken and chicken tenders
cutlets - chicken, pork, beef
chicken livers
egg rolls
donuts
boudin balls
fried twinkies

Some things are still better fried in a skillet or deep pot but I use mine a lot. I use this one and it has to be about 7-8 years old and still going strong.

I never really have ever fried anything and especially in a Deep Fryer.

Do you batter most all or can you just throw it in there? On the doughnuts, do you use can biscuits?

I bought frozen wings for tomorrow night and also potatoes. I assume I need to thaw out the wings? The potatoes, how do you fry them for fries?

Thank you VERY much!

Yes you can use canned biscuits to make donuts then glaze with sugar, powder sugar, cinnamon or whatever.

The best fries ever are cooked twice. Cut into 1/4" spears and soak in water, change water about 3 times during an hour to remove surface starch. I like Idaho or Russet potatoes for this. Dry the fries while heating oil to 325F. Fry potatoes in small batches till they start to get a little color on them, usually about 6-7 min then remove them to drain on paper. Let potatoes rest for about 10 min before continuing. Raise temp of oil up to 350-375F (fryers are different) and fry potatoes again for 1-3 min till they are crispy blond color. Remove batches from oil to drain on paper, salt while hot. This may seem like a ridiculous length of time to make a batch of fries but they are wonderful creamy on the inside while crunchy on the outside. To me it's worth the trouble. :)

How can you live in Fayette County and not eat fried foods?

I just got one of these. It is awesome! I had stopped eating fried foods 2 years ago and now I am back. This thing is great. I am definitely going to try the canned biscuits into donuts thing.

We got one of those presto fry daddys as one of our shower gifts. The do a nice job. I was surprised how much oil it holds.
