Cream of the '09 Crop - Big 'Dre listed among elite

Don't pay too much attention to these. A very high percentage of kids highly-touted now will have fallen off big-time by the time the 2009 NFL Draft rolls around.

This time last year, several players were considered first round "locks," including: Early Doucet, Tyson Jackson, Allen Patrick, Brian Brohm, Calais Campbell, John David Booty, and Limas Seed, just to name a few. Of course none of those guys were drafted in the first round, and most went in the third or later.

On the other hand, players like Jerod Mayo, Dominique-Rodgers Cromartie, Joe Flacco, Johnathon Stewart, Chris Johnson, Felix Jones, Joe Flacco, and others weren't even considering as possible first round picks. Yet they all went then, above all of the "locks."

Bottom line, a lot can change in a year. Don't read too much into projections now. Lots of football games and workouts between now and then.

Not reading too much into it there, Big Easy...simply stating the fact that Big 'Dre has some respect among some of the people who know their stuff. Let's hope he doesn't fall off too much within the next year.

Exactly right! Ask Jake Long if a good senior year brings about rewards
