Should read "allowed to stay in accordance to US law", but accuracy doesn't seem to matter much these days.

Or can you show me where there was an action by the Biden administration that went against US law that led to this?

If not, why does Biden get the blame for his administration following the law?

These things happened under the former guy and every former guy before that as well.

And Congress refuses to effectively address the issue and has for literal decades.

I didn't realize JB personally handed out driver's licenses, but the article says he had a Mexican license and an Ohio identification card. Was JB involved directly in those?

I'm just trying to figure out how JB is to blame if US law was followed and if he had nothing to do with the guy driving or in the incident that caused the death of this child.

Crossing are up enormously under good ole JB. Why were they lower previously? Why couldn’t he and Obama fix it when they had a 60 vote filibuster proof majority in the senate. He was in an administration that didn’t need a single Rep. vote to pass legislation.

Good question at the end for why in the three months democrats had a filibuster proof majority they didn't pass immigration reform ( maybe three months is the answer) , but ending Title 42 (pandemic emergency measures) was appropriate. Or should we have kept the pandemic emergency measures in place (all of them)?

How long does it take to write a bill when you don’t have to concern yourself with anything from the other side. Whip the votes and go.

Yes keep the Title 42 in place as long as possible. Also to think that the illegal immigrants aren’t coming because they know the Biden administration is friendly to them is foolish. There is video of immigrants saying they are coming because Biden will let them in.

And why can we not have every lawmaker participating in meaningful and helpful immigration reform?

They don’t follow the law all the time. Administrations of both parties just ignore FOIA requests and subpoenas. Put the pandemic restrictions in place and then selectively enforce. I’m sitting in a PICU with my daughter right now and there are signs saying masks are mandatory everywhere and this is a major hospital in a major metropolitan area. The majority of the doctors and nurses aren’t wearing them and no one is enforcing the rules. It’s not that difficult to game the system.

Obama and Biden didn’t have any trouble passing Obama care without a single Republican vote. Why not immigration reform? Sounds like excuses to me. If they don’t want to participate forget them. Be pragmatic and get crap done. For the record I think Obama care turned out pretty good. It could have been better but everything can be improved in hindsight.

I feel like that is a grab bag of grievances without much coherence, but I do wish your daughter and family good health and good will.

I’m just responded to your statements. Saying either side passing something should include everyone is wild. Neither side does that even though that would be ideal in a system that was more healthy which ours isn’t and hasnt been for a long time. I think the Clinton impeachment was a moment we often don’t think about when our system really started for fray around the edges.

My daughter had a cavernous malformation removed from her brain Thursday. It was bleeding in her brain. It’s been a wild week. Hope to have her home late mixer week.

Saying one side has the responsibility to pass something is wild, especially for someone who supposedly despises "both sides".

I'm old enough to remember a time - though far from perfect and not looking with rose colored nostalgic glasses - where some things could get done despite the differences in ideology between parties.

What I am saying is that on matters "both sides" claim to be important for the American people the sides should work together where possible, making what compromises they can, and get things done for the good of the country.

And yes, democrats are also at fault even though republicans of late have little desire to address these issues effectively (such as compromise with democrats to get good legislation passed - they let their version of "perfect" be the enemy of "good" - and maybe they intend to do nothing so that wedge issues remain wedge issues - look at abortion and the change from "states' rights" to wanting national legislation).

I hope your girl is better soon and that treatments are a complete success with a full recovery. I hope you can get some rest and recovery along the way and when this is all over.

Obamacare was the Romney Republican plan. Gave the Republican party everything they said they wanted. The GOP opposed it anyway, proving they were never acting in good faith. But then, we know they are beholden to the billionaires and their racist base who can be counted on to reflexively hate anything the black President is for, even when THEY (poor whites) would be the beneficiaries!

The ONE thing I appreciated about Obamacare most of all was the legislation against denying care. When I was insured through Blue Cross with an individual plan, I could never be sure I was paying for something that they wouldn't try to lawyer me out of. If I came down with cancer and they determined it would cost them $2 million to treat me but I'd probably die in two years if they just spent $200,000 in lawyer fees, well, they are a publicly traded company and it is their fiduciary duty to their stockholders to deny me care UNLESS the government forces them to provide care under penalty of law.

It's amazing how good we let these insurance crooks have it and they just want more; they can never be satisfied! I wish we could have nice things.

Republicans would LOVE to have an immigration deal because it would let in guest workers to undermine wages. However, the party leaders make too much hay with the broken system so they are turning to illegals/child labor. All the farmers and construction owners are taking it on the chin but they keep voting the same. Insanity.
