That seems to be the attitude of the team as a whole. He is a Senior, he should show more leadership. Regardless of what has happened in his life, he chose to play, then be a leader. This team needs one if they are going to have any chance in the tourney's.
 
I don't know. JD seems to be a bit aloof from the team, almost a loner. Just seniority (or height and scoring ability) doesn't necessarily make a player a "leader."
 
Watch Davidson on the court. He is the only yelling and telling the teammates to do something.

Joe Dean Jr. was on Finebaum a few weeks back talking about how surprised he was at how vocal Davidson was during the games. He was getting in Gee's face for not being in the right place and cheering on his teammates while he was on the bench.
 
I think that when watching JD it seems he is only worried about himself. Say Hendrix throws an oop to him, he will not point at Hendrix "saying thanks for the pass", but he will beat his fist on his chest "saying it was me, all me" I like JD bc he has great skills, but I'm worried that he is know more worried about his Draft Stock than winning. I think that our leader is Steele, but he's hurt.

I could be wrong...but I think the chest beating thing has something to do with his g/f or brother that passed away. Besides that...Jermareo's only game recently where he showed some type of leadership was @LSU. He didn't show any fire or leadership against Auburn for sure. A real leader would do that. Next year, if Steele is healthy, he will be the leader we need. If he is not back to 100% then look for Hendrix to take over. He is already the closest thing we have to a leader right now.

We're gonna have to win 5 more games if we want to get to the Dance...not so sure that is going to happen.

Yeah, that was in the Sports Illustrated article on him. It said he has a tatoo of his brother's face on his chest and he beats his chest during the game where the tatoo is to honor his brother. It also said he forms a B with his fingers to honor his girlfriend.
 
I wasn't necessarily responding to you Earle, just stating what the article said. Actually I am not sure that whenever he beats his chest it has to do with the article. I believe the exact quote from the article said he beats his chest at the free throw line to honor his brother, so perhaps any other behavior is self-sufficient. Personally I believe one of the things this team is lacking is leadership. And not just in the coaching staff.
 
The behavior that disturbs me more is when he tries to make moves with the ball which he really doesn't have. (The moves - not the ball)
 
Yes...sometimes he tries to look like a quick small point guard with his moves. I hate it when he tries to drive with the ball lately. It usually amounts to a lot of flailing around and an ugly one handed shot that goes in about 1/10 times, and then me yelling. I have wondered almost every time I see it if he is trying to make his draft stock rise. Can someone tell him it's not? I would rather him stand out at 15 feet and shoot jumpers than pull that stuff.
 
If he's going to try to put moves on folks, I could accept his starting from, say 6-9' or so. There's no way anyone, even with his reach, can make the moves he's attempting, starting from 12-15'...
 
I really love it when he throws up those prayers from the 3pt line .:rolleyes: WTH is he doing out that far to begin with ? Thanks a lot CMS . Oh , excuse me , I think I really meant CMG . Is there really much difference ?:conf2:?
 
One shot I really miss from Davidson is the bank shot. I haven't noticed this shot as much lately, but it reminded me of Tim Duncan and he was consistent with it for a while...a shot that is almost impossible to block. I remember a couple of smooth sky-hook (not the jump-hook) shots earlier this year that I thought maybe he would be consistent with but haven't seen these again...another shot that can't be blocked.

Yeah. I read in the Sports Illustrated article on him that the beating of the chest is a tribute to his brother because he has a tattoo of him on his chest.

Wow, this sure turned into a bash Jermareo Davidson thread and stemmed from a positive quote. The main problems are a lack of team defense and little movement on offense. I do not think this can be attributed to any one player.

Really? That's interesting to me, thanks for posting that in response. Glad you didn't take it as me calling you out, I was looking for the exact answer you gave me.

After thinking about it, it would seem better to high five the teammates who helped you dunk that ball, rather than pounding your chest, but hey, whatever works.
