Debates

Debates, like conventions, are now all about production and image. The dems produced a better convention. The reps produced a better debate.

The Republicans "produced" that debate? I get your point about conventions -- but how was that a Republican production?

The difference is that during the convention -- there isn't anyone to counter all the goo coming out of the mouth of the Donkeys -- last night this little thing called "facts" -- showed up and tilted the axis of the Democrat Party....

There was no production -- just two guys verbally duking it out on stage.....

One guy was ready -- the other guy apparently prepped for his fight by listening to Jay Z, watching late night TV, and showing up on the View.....

'Debates' are produced in that both sides rehearse canned answers to expected questions. There is very little spontaneity.
I would agree that MR was much more ready.

3. i disagree with mitt regarding his statement about both parties loving america: how do you want to "fundamentally transform" something you love?

I didn't have much of an issue with this statement. I was more concerned with what followed:

“But we need to have leadership - leadership in Washington that will actually bring people together and get the job done and could not care less if - if it’s a Republican or a Democrat. I’ve done it before. I’ll do it again.”

This subsequent statement tells me Romney will sacrifice conservative principles in the interest of compromise. For example, he says he absolutely agrees with not raising new revenues through new or increased taxes, which I agree with. But, I'm pretty sure he'll give up on this position to achieve some level of spending cuts (assuming Congress remains under some level of Democrat influence).

However, I know that many many Americans will find this to be one of Romney's most appealing debate statements.

Obama has a very busy schedule. Convincing people he's done more than pass a healthcare bill many Americans didn't want, hanging out with Jay-Z, making appearances on late night shows, unnecessary apologies to other countries and taking "much needed" vacations.

I guess if he put all of that aside he could have took the time to plan out his debate.
You left out the time it takes to be "eye candy" on the View

Will The Obamas cancel the remaining debate events?

Just throwing that out there. I expect there will be some discussion on this.

I was gonna pick on you earlier and say "Great, cause one more debate thread would have completed me". But I decided our banter is better when its about steak.
