Decline of the GOP episode XIII

  • Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family from all of your fellow TideFans! Be safe and be blessed!
Kevin Sorbo says no parent should send their kids to public schools or colleges because all they do is teach kids to hate white people, but he does think that Liberty University and Oral Roberts are ok.
he might be right. I went to college and I hate white people. and black people, and Hispanic people, Asian people. well pretty much all people. dang those college professors.

So if the voting public knew about these payments prior to the election and the motive for silencing the parties on the other side, is it fair to say that some of the 1,000,000 people might have avoided death in Covid?

I'm just thinking what might be a good closing argument in an criminal election interference case...

And he might have similar problems to Johnson has had but with "The Squad"... :)
I think the House will flip this fall. I don’t expect any of the Squad would move to vacate the speakership or be complete obstructionists like the MTG crowd has been, although I understand I can certainly be wrong. They do have a tendency to say awkward things at inappropriate times, But they generally back off rather than stage showdowns. Jeffries has been able to keep the Dems voting in a block when they need to.

AOC’s questioning of Cohen several years ago is being credited with kicking off the hush money investigation.

i understand I seem to have a partisan bias, but I think it’s grounded in reality. 😄

You aren't wrong. When the Fraud Squad was kicking around the idea of "force the vote" on M4A, Pelosi promptly stepped on AOC's neck and that was that (much to the chagrin of real leftists everywhere.) The internet turned into a river of flame for several days, but it changed nothing. M4A is still a pipe-dream.

Speaker Johnson could not have passed these monstrosities without the full support of House Democrats, as the majority of Republicans voted against more money for Ukraine. So in the worst example of “bipartisanship,” Johnson reached across the aisle, stiffed the Republican majority that elected him Speaker, and pushed through a massive gift to the warfare/(corporate) welfare state.

After the House voted to send another $60 billion to notoriously corrupt Ukraine, Members waved Ukrainian flags on the House Floor and chanted “Ukraine, Ukraine.” While I find it distasteful and disgusting, in some way it seemed fitting. After all, they may as well chant the name of a foreign country because they certainly don’t care about this country!

Many conservative voters are asking what the point of Republican control of the House is if the agenda is determined by Democrats. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is even reported to have bragged to his colleagues about how easily Speaker Johnson gave Democrats everything they wanted and asked for nothing in return.

The decline of the GOP, indeed. Stuff like this is why people continue to predict a "red wave" every couple of years only to see it barely turn into the red trickle. I would say that voters are going to remember this in November, but they won't.

90% of the money going "to Ukraine" is staying here in the US. Paul is full of it as usual.
