Operation: Pinky and the Brain has been executed to perfection, Mr. President. The mind-control machine works!
I don’t really care about the flags up or down, I’m fairly sure President Carter doesn’t either. Only the republican governors were ridiculed here for raising the flags, this guy should be included as well.

it just gets so tiresome how it’s okay as long as your tribe does it.

Agree 100%, but tribalism isn’t going anywhere. It’s hard-wired into our brains. And I ridicule Newsom all the time for being incompetent and wasteful.

Actually, it matters. Its symbolic of the pettyness of trump. Now it shows the acquiescence of Newsome because he wants something. So yeah, it matters.

He was wrong too.
And if this was Kamala’s inauguration you’d be aggravated if the governors didn’t raise the flags.

You’d be all, “Old white men still run this country, I’m not surprised, blah blah blah.”

The people you like will never lose, and the folks you don’t can never win.

Wrong again. But keep trying to pigeonhole those with whom you disagree if that makes things easier.

It never occurred to me it would be raised for Donald’s inauguration until it happened. It was at half-staff for Richard’s second term in 1973 following Harry’s death in December.

Flags are lowered to honor the decreased. They should not be raised because somebody's side won an election. Thats petty behavior.

and then LBJ died two days after that inauguration as well.

I just can't get upset either way. It's a freaking flag, nobody really cares except the family of the deceased and the petty tribalists.
“It’s a freaking flag” is an interesting take and matches how I feel about a daily recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and standing/kneeling during the National Anthem. I do think it was disrespectful to Carter, but I’m not going to get that upset over it. It’s simply another example of Trump’s boundless ego and the way his sycophants consistently choose to satisfy his need for attention.

Also 100% here. I'll stand for the NA but I don't sing it nor do I put my hand over my heart. I love my country, but these displays are performative at best.

And yes, it's 100% ego by Trump.

After pastor calls out Trump in sermon, Trump issues executive order legalizing crucifixions.

He says “God told him to” and “if it’s good enough for Jesus.”
