Just to brag about our Capstone, the UA law school was recently moved up from #47 to #40 on the US News and World Report ranking of US law schools. The US News and World Report is the "unofficial" official ranking of law schools. Let me assure you that Alabama's law school is now in the top third of the nation's law schools, which is considered the benchmark for recognition of academic excelence in the legal community. We are now in prestigious company.

One thing these reports seem to miss is the size of the universities. UA is much smaller than a lot of those listed which I think makes the accomplishments even more meaningful.

For example, Texas has an enrollment of about 48,000, more than twice that of UA.

NEWFLASH: The University of Alabama is a good school to attend, and they play a little football on the side.

edit: The businees school's MIS program is one of the top 5 in the nation.

Regions Financial will still be led by a BAMA grad and will be a stronger and larger bank as a result. I don't think any job losses will result from this deal. RTR
