Independent Bodhi is no more! I got married on June 11 -- three years to the day of our first date -- to the luckiest woman on the planet. ;) The wedding turned out to be fabulous. My wife's mom was initially denied a visa to attend the wedding. Well, the week of the wedding she was granted the visa. (I guess the appropriate bribes were paid.) It was an all-day affair: teas ceremony in the morning, wedding in the afternoon, and reception in the evening. What a blast!

The only bad thing about being away from work for three weeks is having three weeks worth of work waiting for me upon my return. Oh well, the fact that the work doesn't get down by itself justifies my employment. :)

I also figure I have a lot of contributions (i.e. ranting) to catch up on at TideFans. I'll chip in soon.

Congrats. My biggest problem with my reception was that I didnt get to eat much of the food. I was rushed around by my wife........ :mad2:

Do you have wedding pics? Ya know, smiling people, cute kids, hot brides maids, the obligatory drunken relative, that sort of thing.

congrats!

I will be getting the wedding photos shortly. We wore Vietnamese attire for the tea ceremony and the wedding ceremony. My wife looks stunning in the red gown. I look rather goofy in the blue gown ..... but that might just be me. :p We switched to traditional America attire. I look rather goofy in a tuxedo .... but that also might just be me.

The bridesmaids and many of the other female guests are hotties -- especially if you like Asian chicks (which I do very much).

We had an open bar and the reception lasted about six hours, which was especially pleasing to the professional alcoholics in my entourage.

Tell me about it! I didn't have time to eat breakfast on the wedding day. We had lunch prepared after the tea ceremony ... of which I had time for a diet coke. And of the eight or nine grand I dropped on food for the reception, I had time to eat one plate of appetizers.

And considering it was a hot day and all the stress and running around ... whew ..... I now know what people are talking about. Weddings are exhausting!

Nothing much happened while you were gone.

Congress switched back to the gold standard.

Other than that, nothing big. :p

That sounds familiar. Neither one of us got to eat much. In fact, I think I had one bite of the wedding cake and then, a year later, the traditional "bite of frozen cake on your first anniversary to prove, if nothing else, that neither one of you beat the other to death with a hunk of frozen cake."

Marriage is great. Everyone should do it a few times.

Nein, nein, nein.

Everyone should live the life of Kelly Abraham.
