I started my studies at the University of Alabama in 1981. I finished in 2017.
I felt like John "Bluto" Blutarsky from Animal House: "36 years of college, down the drain."
One of my best friends going all the way back to our toddler days in the Shoals in an EP cards guy here in town... He probably spent about that much time after completing various fellowships after college, med school, and residency! I told him he was ready to retire when he started...

GOT to be one of the funniest movies ever put on film.
” You mind if we dance with yo dates? “
And my all time favorite, “ Hey , you [messed] up, you trusted us ! “.

I agree. I dont know what Miles was doing, the game was not in doubt continuing to pass the ball and let our defense tee off on their QB to the point he was crawling off the field. It looked as if they didnt like ZM and was sending a message to him. Miles didnt even check on him coming off the field.

I actually felt bad for him in that game. And I was angry at Miles for just leaving him in to get roflstomped by our D.

I was 32... Didn't seem that long when I started... Oof!
I was encouraged by many when I was in my early 20’s to take the MCAT and apply to medical school back in the early 1980’s. I just couldn’t see myself investing another four years in medical school, then years of internships/residencies/fellowships etc.

My late father in law was a physician that practiced almost 50 years, into his early 80’s. Often the conversation would turn to discussions of a clinical nature (my wife, his daughter, is a pediatric and critical care nurse) and I would blurt out something (usually an obscure fact related to some disease, disorder, diagnosis or treatment) and he would look at me with a curious look. Then he would ask me “how in the world did you know that?”. The only thing I could say is “I probably read about it somewhere and it “stuck” in my brain”.

He often said “you missed your true calling. You should have been a physician at a teaching institution or a professor of history” . 😂

Hindsight is always perfect, huh?
