Do you think we'll see Andre the next two weeks assuming the extent of his injury is just a knee sprain? I wouldn't mind in the least if the coaching staff elects to let him rest that knee until Arkansas.

Mike Johnson slid over to tackle and David Ross came in at guard when Andre went out. If in fact Smith misses any games, I wonder if Love would come in at tackle since I believe he is listed 2nd on the depth chart at LT.

I think they'll try to save Love's shirt, if at all possible. And, depending on the state of AS's knee, I wouldn't be surprised to see him sit for a week, or, maybe, even two...

Ditto... would think the staff would like to get him a few series the week prior to Arkansas with the intention of him being full-speed for the Hogs.

I know he would hate to see his streak of consecutive starts end. I expect to see him play if the injury is as minor as reported. However, it may only be sparingly. We will know more tomorrow after he is evaluated.

Hope he can start then come out early... after we smash em around a little...

I would prefer they sit him the next two weeks for several reasons:

1-We shouldn't need big Dre to win the next two weeks.

2-It gives him two weeks to fully recover instead of possibly re-aggravating the sprain by playing in a game where he's not even needed.

3-It eliminates the possibility of him sustaining a truly devastating injury in two games where he shouldn't be needed to win.

4-It gives Johnson more experience at LT and Ross more experience at LG should we need this combo down the line somewhere this season if one of our starting tackles is injured again.

All in all....I'd say the positives of sitting him out the next two weeks and bringing him back 100% for the Arky game far outweigh any negatives to him not playing the next two weeks. Not to mention...Johnson and Ross looked pretty dang good when Andre went out.

I would like to go along with this thought as well. I know it's football and men play hurt, and dont' want to mess up a relatively meaningless streak, but I would like to see him rest if the docs say he needs it...and maybe at least one game if they say he doesn't.

1. Do what doctors tell him is best for him.

2. If T. Love is ready and able we should play him. If he is as good as advertized he will leave early anyway. These next two games could be a great time to get experience.

Yes, whatever the Dr says. We're assuming here that he can be brought back to 100%. He is vital.

We should absolutely sit him for a week...maybe two. We're gonna need him at 100% when the SEC schedule starts.

We should also try to save the redshirt for TL. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but he still seems a little undersized for SEC play.:BigA:

This isn't etched in stone but it looks like we might stick with Johnson at LT and Ross at LG to give Andre time to rest. Check day to day for updates.
