Nothing is set in stone yet. He could have just been using LSU as an example of one of the offenses' Randle will have to learn. I think he's saying no matter where he goes he will have to adapt to their system.:BigA:

Easy now, we've discussed the capitol visit in another thread.....

back to the video-- we really don't know what context that response was given to. Also, it's no secret his coaches want him at LSU.

That said, he should still be considered an LSU lean.

Hope springs eternal. I have to agree that RR is heading south, not east, but I admire your optimism. Here's hoping that I am dead wrong.

WAFB did an interview with Randle and his high school coach today. His coach commented on Randle needing time to adjust to Crowton's system at LSU (1:15 into the video)

Well, while I think you're still right that he ends up at LSU, it's difficult to judge the coach's context when we only heard his response, not the question from the interviewer. The question could have been, "How will RR do in LSU's system?" In that case, the response would be fitting. If it was "How will RR adjust to a college system?", then you might be on to something here.
 
He is a very good player. He seems like a fine person as well. I would love to see him at Alabama, but he seems LSU bound. It really seems we are going overboard over one player when gov't is even mentioned in same breath as a football recruit. If he goes to LSU it makes sense, if he goes to Alabama it makes sense. Kid has to feel a ton of pressure. Let him choose.
 
Look I don't want to try and be a sunshine pumper in this situation but I do believe that Bama still has a decent shot to land Randle. I have mentioned the reasons why I have that opinion in the Randle Update thread. We do know that Randle has narrowed it down to or is still considering LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

As far as the comments in this video we do know that the Bastrop High Coach Brad Bradshaw is an LSU fan. I am not saying that CBB will push him to LSU but he would certainly not push him to any other school either. I think we would have to know the context of the Bradshaw comments before we throw in the towel on Randle. I still believe that Randle will end up at LSU when it is all said and done but I am still holding out some hope that I wrong.
 
i wouldnt buy into that at all. clearly a situation where the coach wants the kid to go to LSU. persuasion is the only thing i take from that. but like most everyone else, i think he's an lsu lean as well. but we will see.

If you are a great reciever do you want to go to a team that is going to have the play maker as their Qb such as a Russel Sheppard or a Tim Tebow and is precieved as a QB show or a team that has a QB that gets the ball to the play makers such as Julio and the running backs. Well maybe whoever signs with LSU or Florida will get to hear a lot about Tebow or Shepard. Their is going to be a lot of oportunities for the reciever that plays on the opposite side of JUlio!!! Our offense is going to have a lot of opportunities with the defense we have and are building! Our defense is going to be downright scary and our offense is going to be very good! It is going to be a great time to be a member of the Crimson Tide!
 
Well if you want to use that argument, If you are a great receiver why would you want to come to a team that has one of the best offensive lines in the country, and the top RB recruit (by many) plus a VERY good Mark Ingram, and stable of Tailbacks, okay getting side tracked... Knowing all this with the running game, and KNOWING Bama is traditionally known for the smash mouth running game, not it's passing... You'd probably have better looks from NFL scouts as a WR at LSU then a WR at Bama... (Julio IS an exception OF COURSE!)


i dunno, i could just be a retard saying all that but it seems like a valid point...

Anyone that has checked J Mac's offensive history will see that when he gets the players, and time, to implement his full offensive scheme it will be a very balanced attack......with plenty of passes. RR could flourish with a bevy of other good WR's, forcing single coverages by the DB's.
 
Russell Shepard is not a Tim Tebow type...more Percy Harvin type. I don't see Shepard playing much QB at LSU, so that will not be a factor in whether or not RR winds up at LSU.

Jefferson is a sophomore next season, and will likely be the LSU starting QB for the next 3 seasons.

I'm hoping Shepard stays at QB long enough to send Terrance Broadway to Tuscaloosa in 2010.
 
His coach may have left the cat out of the bag a bit, but even so the bag has been wide open and in plain view for everyone for quite a while now.
