Russell Shepard is not a Tim Tebow type...more Percy Harvin type. I don't see Shepard playing much QB at LSU, so that will not be a factor in whether or not RR winds up at LSU.

Jefferson is a sophomore next season, and will likely be the LSU starting QB for the next 3 seasons.

I think that Russell is the only person in the country who still thinks he is going to play QB at LSU.

I'm hoping Shepard stays at QB long enough to send Terrance Broadway to Tuscaloosa in 2010.

I'm with ya there. We are clearly the early favorite. We'll see what happens after NSD when LSU really starts going after him. He didn't grow up and LSU fan but it will be hard to pull him out of the heart of Baton Rouge with the pressure that is there.

And by the way if we got Broadway that would end all concerns about pulling a top player out of Louisiana, he is expected to be the top ranked player in that state next year. But they will also have 1 or 2 other top ranked QB's in Louisiana next year and LSU will have 4-5 QB's on scholarship. Hopefully we can get Broadway.

Reuben Randle is going to make his own decision, and there's nothing we can do to change it. But that doesn't mean it will be the right decision. If he makes it for himself, then it is the right decision -- no argument from me, and I would be stupid to make it.

But if he goes to LSU, in my humble opinion, he is going to lose out on two possibilities -- 1. The chance to play opposite Julio and therefore be part of a great, innovative combo, something that rarely if ever has been done; and 2. The chance to play for a head coach who is head and shoulders the better coach.

I think that we are still in the early stages of a story that has been developing ever since Les Miles took over the job at LSU from Nick Saban. The problem is -- as I see it, anyhow -- the kids in Louisiana haven't figured it out yet. The truth is, regardless of how many times you've heard it, Miles won with Saban's players. And the truth also is, Miles' brash personality appeals to kids, much like Ed Orgeron's does. But that does not translate into being a great head coach.

If Randle goes to LSU instead of Alabama, he probably consigns himself to losing the chance to play for a national championship. He thereby falls into this illusion that, since Miles is compiling another great class, LSU is headed for "another national championship under Miles."

But, again, Miles won a national championship with a class put together by Nick Saban, not by Miles himself. Have you compared the players Saban and Miles have put together this time? I realize it is "surface," but Saban's recruits are taller. But THAT was the nature of the Saban-grown team that Miles won his NC with. The underlying factuality will have to play out over the next two or three years, and I may be proven 100% wrong, but I think that Miles is going to be shown to be what he is, and Saban is going to be shown what he is -- and the players who sign with Miles on Wednesday are going to choose their fate.

HAHA...what a joke!! I hope none of you guys actually believe what this guy wrote. Les Miles....first of all...has been a great coach for LSU. Go and take a look at his record...and I don't want to hear this Saban's recruits crap. All of those players had to be coached up which Miles did a great job of. Look at Miles' recruit classes...they are unbelievable and very consistant. Last...I personally think this last season was a sort of a fluke to have that many losses. We lost our superstar quarterback right before the season and had to throw in a redshirt freshman who was basically just lost the whole season.... and the co-defensive coordinator deal didn't seem to work to well either...then throw in a couple disease seniors who basically gave up on the season (No real leaders)...and it is easy to understand how Miles didn't have the best season All of these issues have been solved with the hiring of Chavis and finding a veery capable quarterback in Jordan Jefferson who I believe will become a stud BTW (maybe Russell Shepard also). I think the team that shut down Georgia tech is the team you can expect to see a lot more next season. To blame one bad season on Miles considering all the other stuff that went on is just retarded. I am not claiming a National Championship next year or anything...but be looking for LSU to be in the mix at the top for a long time to come. We have a great coaching staff, serious depth with a ton of talent, players with great character and leadership, and one of the best recruiting classes in the nation coming in...all thanks to Les Miles who you claim sucks and is Nick Saban's step child. HE WON A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!! He is also 4-0 (I think) in Bowl games. To say that this guy is bringing down LSU is just a step beyond delusional. I think Bama is a program on the up and I give saban props for what he has done...but is it the one good season that is giving you these illusions...I am confused how you could make a statement like that?
Also, do you not thing that Rueben could have something special with Brandon Lafell (all SEC returning for senior year), Terrance Tolliver (top ranked reciever prospect in 07), Deangelo Benton (5*), etc?? Throw in the versatility factor with running Charles Scott, Keiland Williams, Trindon Holiday, Sheppard, and Jordan Jefferson...a great offensive line...I would say Rueben could have something pretty special at LSU too...a lot of other things going on with that offense to leave him WIDE open...ALOT! I honestly think that an athlete of Randle's caliber could get immediate playing time and make a huge impact as a freshman at LSU

I think both LSU and BAMA are both going to be forces to be reckoned with for a long time to come and I look forward to what is shaping up to be a huge rivalry. BUT...I had to get on here and make a few points after reading these ridiculous comments

All jokes aside, as much as I would like to keep hope alive for RR's LOI to BAMA Wednesday, I truly believe in ends up signing with LSU.

I do believe we have an edge program-wise with the coaches on the roster and the talent we're putting together. With him on the roster, we'll have the best WR corps for a least the next 4 years. Where LSU is only looking at two years of solid WR play at the most with their corp since most are up for graduation in the next two years.

Bottom line, I think Bama would be the better situation for him, but can't blame him for signing at LSU. he has a chance to be the future of that program, but it might be a situation where he may be stuck without help if they can't replace the WR talent they're going to lose in the future.
