News Article: Eddie Jackson back with first team

No surprise here.....go back and re-watch the Iron Bowl.......Cyrus Jones was a huge reason why Bama lost that game.

Hopefully Cyrus bounces back next year, but he looked lost in the Spring game, and I was hoping he would never see the field in a big game this year......Auburn sure is glad he did.

Youth, complexity and rule changes hurt the db's this year. No more timed lowering the boom. Either you knock the ball down or you gingerly tackle them after they catch a pass.

I rewatched a few games from 09, and out db'S were scary aggressive and would take people out. It's sad that this phase of football is gone for ever. Timing your hit to the second the ball arrives.

We have db's in the NFL that started off slowly. The slow development of Jackson along with lower production of Fulton and two key injuries hurt us. But the db's were not the reason we lost the game. Look at the rushing yardage.

This should have happened several games ago and especially in the last one. Better last than never I suppose. EJ is a superstar CB in the making and should have been playing tons late in the season.

Part of me thinks that the news about Eddie Jackson and Derrick Henry getting more involved is coming out at just the perfect time. We have a few DB recruits and one particular RB recruit who this might be about. Sure would be nice to show those recruits that if you do the right things as a freshman at Alabama, it is possible to see the field and get solid playing time.

Bryant Ave....I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but the part about the rushing total was caused in part by Cyrus, too.......he got burned on the run and pass several times.

I'm not here to jump on Cyrus for his performance but if it wasn't him it would just been someone to blame. I think Cyrus will be a great talent but he needs experience...that being said Eddie has far more upside..and no better chance to see what he can do under the bright lights than now.

Plenty of blame to go around when fingers start pointing. Our linebackers shoring up the run got burned numerous of time. Yes, Cyrus had a bad game, but we win as a team and lose as a team.

Was Cyrus perfect in the IB, no, and alot of other mistakes were made as well. This thread isn't about bashing Cyrus, but being happy for Eddie and his development. The past is the past. I hate how the IB played out, but stop beating the "dead horse". You guys are worse than my dad talking about "Punt Bama Punt".

Not sure when that "Punt" game was played, but the Auburn game is still very fresh in my mind. It is natural to still feel its pain. I suspect that it will stick in craws until Alabama plays again and beats the Sooners, then the focus will shift to next season's national championship run.

For Jackson - I am happy for him and hope that he takes advantage of this opportunity.

If you need to place blame on someone look no further than his position coach standing on the sideline. He decides who plays and only he knows who gives us the best chance to win.
