Jimbo Fisher to A&M makes zero sense. Fisher doesn't have many ties that far west. Hes a damn good coach, but A&M? Seriously? A&M? Don't get me wrong, A&M has a good program, but Fisher being there is going to be like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. I don't think its a good fit because you need a certain type of coach to coach ANYWHERE in Texas. There is a certain recruiting pipeline in Texas and if you don't understand it or know much about it, you're not going to be too successful.

There is a good ole boys wink wink nod club among the High School Football Coaches. You need to be a part of that "in crowd" to know who is who among the players. This is how Art Briles took these 2-3 star athletes and made them look like 5 Stars. Because High School coaches trusted Art and told him who the diamonds in the rough are. This is how you succeed coaching College Ball in Texas. Its different in Texas. Vastly different then other States.

Fisher better figure out that Texas recruit pipeline quickly or he'll be another Charlie Strong.
Meh. I’ve heard all these things about Texas my whole life but when you look at it ND has more national championships than the whole state combined. I think they need something new. They need a national recruiter like Jimbo

He will quickly learn the boosters at aTm are unlike those at FSU! They make the meddling of Lowder at AU look like amateur hour... After 4 years he will be begging Sexton to get him out of the cult. Go over to TexAgs. Those delusional idiots think with him they are going 15-0 next year and being CFP champions. Might as well give them the trophy.
I read what you said prior, Coach Rumlin? You must read hornfans or Shaggy...Sumlin NEVER hung out at Northgate either, so I'd love to hear more of your fantasies. Delusional idiots? I read Texags quite often and like any fanbase, there are morons, but to try to paint us all as "delusional" is a bit narrow minded. I have posted on this site for a number of years, so please point me to ONE thing I have ever stated here that is "delusional" by your definition. Do we think we are going 15-0 next year? Only a moron would believe that. He won't sniff 9 wins, but heck what do I know since we are all meddlers and delusional. Also, please name ONE, just ONE of our boosters that meddles. I'll hang up and listen.

Tim Brewster, FSU's recruiting coordinator, knows how to recruit Texas. He also worked for Mack Brown and helped him build the horns in the early 2000s. Rumor is that he's coming along with Fisher and Dameyune Craig. Apparently a few of Sumlins assistants will be retained as well, recruiting the state of Texas won't be as hard as you make it out to seem. Charlie Strong made a crucial mistake when he began with the horns, he tried to recruit Florida primarily instead of Texas. I highly doubt Fisher will make that same mistake, only time will tell though.

My comment regarding ‘Rumlin’ came from a current player. They do not have any reason to lie. I know several of your biggest boosters. When y’all hired Fran one told me in early October of 2002 Fran would be at aTm. They had already met with him. So yes, I do have facts to back up my post.

BTW, when did I personally call you delusional? I don’t appreciate your accusations. I have NOTHING against the Aggies. I have family members that played there. I have said before there is no reason aTm should not be as dominant as BAMA. Equal if not better facilities, more fertile recruiting ground, and Alumni with more money than sense. So, before you throw around accusations, maybe you should learn to read.

Even with that schedule you mentioned? Expectations are crazy, and coaches may act like they don't like it, but those crazy expectations have also driven up the salaries to an astronomical level. Get fired after three years? Who cares? You made $15 million and shouldn't have to worry about money again. Stay with coaching and make more or travel the world for a while. Get another gig as an assistant and add to the piggy bank before cashing out and retiring at an early age. I'm guessing most of these guys don't really care about fans' opinions as long as their families are taken care of for a long time to come.
If I were him, I’d try to go 0-12 and get fired in 1 year with a fully guaranteed contract! 😂.

For my wife and other family members who graduated from aTm, I hope they do well except for when they play us. I‎t will make watching the games more fun.

My apologies, I took your posts incredibly wrong. Didn't mean to accuse you of anything, just not a fan of someone calling Sumlin by any other name. He's a good man, just didn't work out with us. Again, my apologies.

No worries! I owe you the apology for my comment at the end of my last post. When Sumlin went to aTm I thought he was going to have more success.

So did I, lol that didn't work out like we thought. Nah, you don't owe me an apology, I've read a lot of what you have written here over the years and a lot of it/most of it is 100% correct. I think we are idiots for throwing out a guaranteed contract like that. Then again, it's not my money, so I don't mind. :)

Jimbo Fischer

Jimbo Fischer:
Take a #3 team, go 3-8, screw the team that killed you and parleys that into a $75 MILLION payday??
That's impressive
Mike Dubose did the same thing and just got fired

Re: Jimbo Fischer

1) it’s Fisher not Fischer

2) they are 5-6 with one game left

3) with two major injuries and a hurricane it’s not so unexpected

4) no dubose was being fired for more than starting #3 and ending up in the toilet bowl. He was going to be fired for unethical stuff the year before but the players pulled an epic upset vs Spurrier despite Dubose’s moronic play calling at the end of that game.

Fisher is a good coach. Potentially a great coach. I suspect the Aggies will be a tougher opponent under his leadership, and while we've had our share of blowouts, they've also played Bama close several times.
