Not sure if that's amusing or frightening..

OK. Even though I'm a bit afraid to, I'll ask...What's the ball out belt?

From the spring:

Alabama coaches created the belt for this spring, a fun way of encouraging players to create turnovers after being dissatisfied with the Tide's takeaway total last season.

A winner was selected following each spring practice and scrimmage after being determined to have had the most strip attempts, batted balls and production points during that particular session.

Hmmmmm...I'll go with frightening.

The ball out belt is a boxing type belt they give to the person who creates the most turnovers. CKS implemented in the spring and I recall the players taking the belt from each other during the spring game when they created or made a turnover.

What is the deal with Tony Brown? He's not in a black jersey and is not in our dime. Was hearing he would be starting but not seeing much of him.

CNS and CLK have done a great job of mixing the QB order, throwing assignments, and drill pairings. Every day it's different, and I think that it's by design. They may not fully tip their hand until thw first snap of the season.

Who's Joey Galloway?

A young buck talking head trying to make a name for himself.

It's kind of like Tim Brando trumpeting a Jevan Snead-led, Houston Nutt coached Ole Miss team as a national championship contender....it's a calculated risk, with next to no downside, and a lot of upside.

If he's right, he'll bill himself as an omniscient guru, and we'll hear about it longer than Punt Bama Punt.

If he's wrong (as even he knows he, in all likelihood, will be), it'll be forgotten like yesterday's navel lint.

Well said and true

ESPN has so many guys as on-air talent, especially for CFB, that I think it has kinda bred a culture of hot-takery to get the limelight. If you're one of the B-roll or C-roll guys, your example is Skip Bayless who launched himself into stardom by saying bombastic and straight up aggressively idiotic things to capture eyes and ears.

All of them want to get the cushy year-round job with their own show and more pay...the measured and shrewd prognosticators aren't the ones ESPN cares about because they don't inspire outrage. For example, Greg McElroy is probably already at the peak of his influence within ESPN because he's probably won't debase himself like others...and he only got there because the Golden Boy Tim Tebow won't give up on the NFL.

the thing is all the new age reporters are trying to be like Finebaum and Bayless, but they miss why those two are really successful. While both are controversial and like to stir the pot, they are actually for the most part fair and have relevant facts to back up their claims. I know you can ask about "Tebowmainia" being anything relevant on bayless's part, but how many times is he right compared to most reporters. I think the mass hatred for Bayless comes from his attacks on Lebron, his mancrush on Brady, and his view on the SEC. But in most of his arguments he brings up stuff that most overlook that really is relevant. Galloway and Kannell try to play the bad guy role like Finebaum and Bayless do, but they beat the same point over and over and dont provide relevance to the argument.

We don't really have a QB on roster who can do with his legs what Sims could do...

I disagree with your take on sims legs.
Blake barnett ran a faster 40 time as senior in H/s ( 4.51 at the sparq comp), then blake simms did in his Nfl combine tryouts 4.57. Have you seen barnetts highlight films where he consistently runs away from safeties and cb's, like dust in the wind?

Barnett may have better straight line speed but he does not have the quickness and moves that Blake S. had and it is not close. As some of said, Blake S. was a RB playing QB. I believe this was Earle's point.
