Favorite player

My favorite player is more of the quiet but steady players and being
height challenged as I was in high school (4'11 when I turned 15 to get my drivers liscense) is Joey Jones. I remember a game when I was less than 10 living in Jackson Miss, they played State there, 2 years after the 6-3 defeat to them, and they had us on the ropes again. This may not be 100% correct, but I think Walter Lewis was struggling at QB and they put in a young Mike Shula, he threw a bomb that bounced off a defenders helmet to Joey and he caught it turned around backwards and walked backwards into the end zone for the winning TD. Hey, I was young, but thats the way I remember it. Also remember my dad forking the money to have bumper stickers made in response to the ones State had in 80. Instead of "I was there State 6 Bama 3" his asked "Were you there? Bama 13 State 10" Good stuff!

Great memory!

My first Bama memory was riding down the road with my dad when I was about five and the news about Bear's death came over the radio. I didn't know much about life or about what was going on in the world in 1983, but I remember that on that day I knew something important had happened.

Was definately a sad day the news of that hit. Was living in Greenville MS at the time, but remember the day well. I remember my dad calling my Aunt in Tuscaloosa and told her to be sure to keep all the newspapers and any sports illustrated covers she had of him. Still has them all as far as I know, along with our framed stubbs of the 315 victory game.

Which was more depressing.....the news of the Bear's passing, or living in Greenville, MS. I'm from the big city of Greenville myself, or at least thats what I claim!!!!!!:BigA:

My best memory came sitting about 20-30 rows up in the endzone at the Rocky Flop game when that guy fumbled. That was the best Rammer Jammer I've ever sung!:BigA::):)

oh how GREAT that was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no doubt one of the best rammer jammers EVER.

My favorite player (if it isn't obvious by my avatar and name) is Shaun! I was a student at bama when he was there. Thanks goodness for 1999, Shaun, and Chris Samuels, otherwise, my time there football wise would of just stunk!! (well there was 2001)

There's no way I could name just one player:

Joe Namath, Ken Stabler, Johnny Musso, Derrick Thomas, Cornelius Bennett, David Palmer, John Hannah, Lee Roy Jordan, Ozzie Newsome, Antonio Langham, Shaun Alexander, Tommy Wilcox, Jerimiah Castille, Jay Barker, DeMeco Ryans, Roman Harper, Eric Curry, John Copeland.

These are just a few that I pulled off the top of my head without even thinking about too much. There's no way I can pick just one player from that bunch. :)

Living in Greenville was depressing no doubt. But the Bear's passing topped it. That Rocky Flop game was good, but my best memory of a Tennessee game was in Knoxville, whole family went up and all we heard was how Majors was breaking out these orange high top shoes for the game. Bill Curry was coach, and he gave Majors his worst defeat in Neyland, I sat beside the band at age 13 or so, and sang 'go to he!! tennessee' on every rocky top they played, which wasnt many that day.

seeing i've only been watching games since around 2001, mine would have to be Shaud Williams. He was a short guy, but he would just break tackle after tackle. Especially his performance in the 5 ot game vs UT. He had heart.

Aries Monroe

I loved his name, and he was the first DE I remember seeing rocking the #22. Plus he was rock solid muscle - I always figured he would be a great guy to have on your side!

Ive been a Bama fan my whole life, but it wasnt till 05. Thats when i really got the fever. Tyrone Prothro would have to be mine. It gives me goosebumps to think about what that guy was capable of. If only...

Mine would have to be players while I was in school.
-Demeco
-Freddie Roach
-Prothro
-I know he had a rough senior year but I loved Darby.
