So what they're saying is for all intents and purposes, the 2017-2018 ncaa basketball season never happened? This is getting scary and pretty nerve-racking.

Thamel? Yes. Auburn fans hate him going back to the Cam scandal though. Is this guy credible?
Vacating of wins with a lot of the major programs sort of makes your comment correct. It sounds like rather than punish everyone involved they will retroactively change the rules to more reflect what is currently going on is how I see it. Lots of nervous programs and thinking little brother has to be in a full sweat now (but we may be in that boat also). So what they're saying is for all intents and purposes, the 2017-2018 ncaa basketball season never happened?
https://twitter.com/abc/status/964600079385579520He was probably stunned when we weren't on probation in 2011 either. Guy never misses an opportunity to let it be known he doesn't like Auburn.
Yeah, we don't like Auburn either. He was probably stunned when we weren't on probation in 2011 either. Guy never misses an opportunity to let it be known he doesn't like Auburn.
Hey, no shock there lol.Yeah, we don't like Auburn either.![]()
I see you are going down with the ship Dub. When it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, etc..... I'm not sure we are in the clear either but hoping we are.Hey, no shock there lol.
I’m not particularly worried about these new revelations, and we’ve never been too concerned with anything Thamel has to say.
Unlike others named in the DOJ report, the recruiting aspect of the scandal doesn’t touch us. The DOJ said the investigation into Auburn was limited to Person. What we lost Danjel and Austin over was impermissible benefits after they were already on campus. Person’s actions were limited to paying players to steer them to an agent in anticipation of them going pro.
Going only by the DOJ report, this at worst means we could vacate any games in which they participated after they took money, which would mean most of last year, but they’ve been held out all season this year.
That being said, there could certainly be some recruiting violations or other impermissible benefits yet to have been revealed, especially considering the fact that we’re the nouveau rich as far as basketball is concerned, and there could certainly have been some shady goings on with Austin, Danjel or Mustapha’s recruitment that implicate Pearl. I’m not naive enough to claim Auburn is definitely clean as a whistle. Just can’t see how badly this hits us, if at all, until more evidence comes to light.
But hey, if this report is as bad as folks are insinuating, it’s going to hit a lot of programs. If it hits us too, so be it. The sport is due for a colonic.
Yeah but people automatically assume Auburn because of the indictment. We may very well be implicated, but the facts don't really bear that out given the nature of the indictment. My understanding of the article is that no one has seen what the feds have and, in fact it is possible that no one will ever see what they have.
Somebody that has seen it is probably leaking him info, but Thamel has been known to overplay his hand, so who knows. If so, isn't the comments about how bad the fall out is going to be just speculation? If he hasn't seen the info how does he know it is going to be bad?
I hope we both avoid it. At this point, there's really nothing anyone can do otherwise, y'all included. Just enjoy the seasons we're having now and roll with it.I see you are going down with the ship Dub. When it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, etc..... I'm not sure we are in the clear either but hoping we are.
He parsed his words well "We wouldn't be here if we had done...if the problem were any greater."
I wouldn’t feel real comfortable if I were an Auburn fan after hearing that “gobblety goop” that came out of Pearl’s mouth at the end of that interview. He parsed his words well "We wouldn't be here if we had done...if the problem were any greater."
Especially the bit about naming a door after him; but hoping they don't show him the door?I wouldn’t feel real comfortable if I were an Auburn fan after hearing that “gobblety goop” that came out of Pearl’s mouth at the end of that interview.
Good grief.
