The Crimson Tide and Tigers will meet for the 385th time in series history on Friday

TUSCALOOSA, AL –
The 25th-ranked Crimson Tide baseball team will welcome LSU to Sewell-Thomas Stadium this Friday through Sunday for Alabama's final conference weekend of the 2024 season. The two SEC Western Division foes are scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch in game one followed by a 4 p.m. start on Saturday and a 1 p.m. open on Sunday. All three games of the series will air on SEC Network+.

Alabama's weekend with LSU will feature numerous promotions at The Joe. The theme for the three-game set will be 'Mother's Day', highlighting moms as part of the overall celebration of the Tide's final weekend at home during the regular season. Friday will feature a bobblehead giveaway for head coach Rob Vaughn. Fans are able to grab their voucher for a bobblehead that can be picked up in the seventh inning. Prior to Friday's series opener, there will be a flyover at The Joe. This will be the first flyover at Sewell-Thomas Stadium since its reopening in 2016.

Game two will be Alabama's 'Senior Day' to recognize the program's nine seniors on the current roster along with three senior staff members. Saturday's matchup will also be the third 'Alabama Hat Series' giveaway. Fans can get a cap at the gate that is unique to the series with the Tigers, with the third hat featuring a 'Crimson Tide' trucker hat design. To claim a hat, fans will need to get a voucher at the gate upon entering and redeem the voucher for their hat after the 7th inning stretch.

On Mother's Day, all mothers will receive flowers at the gates prior to Sunday's game. Pregame Sunday will also feature the Atlanta Braves Country Road Trip and an autograph signing in center field with select Alabama football players. For Sunday, fans can get their fifth 'Gameday at The Joe' button. The buttons are part of a season-long promotion and were handed out for select series. The finale will be the final 'Kids' Day at The Joe'. All kids 12-and-under will be able to run the bases postgame. Additionally, Sunday will be the Tide's fifth and final baseball card giveaway of the season. The cards are part of a season-long promotion that highlighted the 2024 roster. Kids can get their pack of cards and stay after the game to get autographs from the group of players featured on this Sunday's set of cards.

• Alabama and LSU will meet for the 385th time in the history of the two programs when the series opens on Friday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Crimson Tide holds the all-time advantage, 205-176-3, including a 117-73 mark at home.
• The two Western Division foes last met for a series from April 28-30, 2023, in Baton Rouge. The top-ranked Tigers swept the Tide in a back-and-forth weekend series. LSU took game one, 8-6, before following up with a 12-8 victory in game two. The eventual national champs ended the weekend with a 13-11 win on Sunday.
• Alabama and LSU last met in Tuscaloosa from May 6-8, 2022. The Tigers opened the weekend with a 6-5 win, but the Crimson Tide responded with an 8-3 victory on Saturday to even the series at one game apiece. LSU then clinched the series with a 12-3 victory on Sunday.

About Alabama
• Alabama enters the weekend series with LSU at 2-2 across the last four games. The Crimson Tide earned one win at Mississippi State last weekend before downing 21st-ranked Troy on Tuesday at Riddle-Pace Field.
• Alabama outlasted Troy, 7-6, on Tuesday evening to finish at 20-4 in non-conference play during the regular season.
• The Tide built a 3-0 lead after three innings and added two more in the fourth, highlighted by a solo homer from William Hamiter. Troy was able to strike for one in the fourth before four in the fifth to tie it at 5-5 through five.
• Hamiter helped UA regain the lead with a solo shot to start the sixth, a run that would prove key as both teams were able to cross one apiece in the eighth for the 7-6 final.
• The Tide offense was led by Hamiter, who finished 2-for-3 with the two solo shots, two RBI, three runs and two walks. Will Hodomatched him in RBI with two as part of a 1-for-3 day that included a run, one walk and a hit-by-pitch.
Aidan Moza picked up the win on Tuesday while Braylon Myers notched his second save of the season with a scoreless ninth that included one punchout and a lineout double play.
• The Crimson Tide dropped game one of the weekend series with State, 13-3, last Friday evening at Dudy Noble Field.
• Mississippi State plated six runs over the first three innings to gain the early advantage. The Bulldogs then posted a six-run fourth to build a 12-0 lead.
• The Tide got three in the fifth, but MSU followed with one run in the sixth to give the Bulldogs the run-rule victory.
• Alabama suffered an 8-1 loss to Mississippi State last Saturday afternoon.
• The Crimson Tide was first to strike on Saturday thanks to a solo homer from Max Grant in the third. State came right back with three runs in the home half of that frame to take the lead for good. The Bulldogs added one more in the fourth to go with a pair of runs in both the sixth and eighth innings for the 8-1 victory.
• Alabama earned a 10-5 victory over Mississippi State last Sunday to avoid the sweep.
• The Tide plated four in the second before State answered with one in the home half of that inning. UA then widened the gap with three in the fifth and one in the sixth to make it 8-1 headed to the seventh.
• Following the stretch, Mississippi State was able to put up two in the seventh and a pair in the eighth but single tallies for Alabama in both the eighth and ninth ensured the 10-5 win.
• The Tide bats recorded 12 hits on Sunday with eight of the nine starters registering at least one knock. Ian Petrutz led with a 3-for-4 effort while Justin Lebron and Grant each posted two-hit days. One of Grant's knocks was a three-run homer while Bryce Eblin also recorded a home run, his a solo shot.
• Myers picked up the win with 3.0 relief frames. He followed starter Ben Hess, who allowed one run on four hits and one walk with four strikeouts in 4.0 innings before turning it over to the pen.

• Jay Johnson is in his third season with the Tigers in 2024 and entered the new year with a career record of 411-211 across 11 seasons at the Division I level, including a 94-39 mark in Baton Rouge. A 2001 graduate of Point Loma Nazarene, Johnson is assisted by Josh Jordan, Marc Wanaka and Nate Yeskie.
• LSU finished with a 54-17 overall record and a 19-10 mark in SEC play a season ago. The Tigers were crowned 2023 national champions after winning the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional and Super Regional to advance to Omaha.
