I've been visiting TideFans for more than 10 years for reliable football intel and rumors. I retired about 18 months ago and finally have time to participate more extensively. I graduated with 2 engineering degrees in the late 60's. I consider myself an avid, but reasonable fan. From my generation and handle, it's easy to see I'm a Bear fan. Looking forward to interacting with you all. I've lived in Oklahoma for most of the last 40 years. As you all probably know, Bama has played Oklahoma teams 4 times in that interval and lost all four, an amazing statistic considering our overall record. Looking forward to finally laying it on these guys. BTW, I appreciate this thread for not tolerating nonsense, and I promise to abide by the rules.

Welcome BOOMER SOONER one of my best friends was sooner fan until he moved to Alabama. He quickly became Bama fan as he had to watch more local stuff. One guy at worked asked him why Bama, he told this guy who is an auburn fan Bama wins and auburn has the worst fans he ever met. The look on that aubies face was priceless. The truth just killed him LOL Welcome

Welcome. Glad to see you posting. I went to UA in the 70's and am too a Bear fan. However, as much as I enjoyed that period of Bama football, we are now living in the best time ever to be a Crimson Tide fan. How blessed are we to have the 2 best coaches to ever coach college football? Roll Tide!

Welcome, BearFan. Glad you're here.

In 2002, Mrs. Basket Case and I made the trip to Norman. Great game, and we almost pulled the upset. OU fans couldn't have been more gracious. Still the most fun I've ever had at a loss.

Welcome, BearFan great to have you with us. I too was at the University in the late 60's and of course worshipped Coach Bryant. There's a bunch of "oldies but goodies" on here who, for the most part, have all their faculties. Roll Tide.

Welcome and I as well am a Coach Bryant disciple. Someone asked me yesterday who was greater, Coach Bryant or Coach Saban? I said "both are great but from different eras. But the important thing is that they both belong to the University of Alabama." RTR

Welcome. Like Gray said, you're not alone in the 'mature' category. I believe I still have all my faculties, although some will question how many I had to begin with.

Welcome to THE place for all things Bama. I, like GrayTide, was at the University in the late 60's,early 70's and also a member of the resident OFC (Old Fart's Club). Great time to be joining. We're in the halcyon days of Bama sports. RTR!

I am old enough to say I have seen to 2 best eras of Bama, most of Bear era and all of the Saban ERA. To think we have had 2 such great coaches really sets us apart from any other team that comes to mind. Here is hoping the youngsters here get to enjoy ERA 3 with another great coach down the road post Saban. Could lightning strike a 3rd time???? Lets hope so.

Was in T Town when Shula lost that game to OU, I must agree OU fans were the best I had seen in years. Had nothing but great things to say about our fans and program. Only saw one drunk frat idiot being stupid, MY 6 ft 4 in former marine brother in law put an end to his BS fast and NICE, no violence. Just set him down and put the evil eye to him, even drunk he got it. Many OU fans thanked him and said they understood some just cannot hold their liquor, all ended well.
