Florida hires Louisiana's Billy Napier as new Head Football Coach (11/28/2021)

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

So is Enos the modern day Phillip Fulmer? His offense is so bad he now gets to be HC? If this happens, then there is something intrinsically wrong with the UF program that CBN cant overcome.

I wished they would go ahead and fire him and he come serve as an analyst for us for the remainder of the season.

There is some noise on X that a Napier decision has been made and the Enos will be interim while a search happens.

Most guys struggle jumping from G5 to P4 (especially P2). I wish he had done better but I can't see him surviving this year.
I have no animus for Napier (he's a former Bama guy), but my advice to him would be, if you still have boxes you have not yet unpacked, hold up. Don't unpack them just yet.

You can equate this with the rise of Miami. All 3 can’t be good at the same time…can they?
Sure they can. FL cranks out high-caliber football players like crazy - now that NIL is in play, if they can build a good season or two that border will be tough to crack again.

Even in 2000, this is how the teams ended the season (ranking):
FSU: Coaches #4, AP #5
UF: Coaches #11, AP #10
UM: Coaches #2, AP #2

You do realize that was a quarter of a century ago -- before CNS (and Clemson) started raiding Florida for athletes. Yes, they have plenty, but in today's world they don't remember Air Spurrier or CBB.

Of course, hence my point they need to string a few good seasons together.

The reality is if all three (or even two of the three) had remained strong, Saban would have had a much tougher time recruiting at the level he did. It was the perfect storm for the GOAT.
