I was skimming around on one of the Florida message boards and noticed several threads that dealt with the lack of class by Bama fans. Then, after they rant for a little bit on that topic, they go on, for what seems like forever, to completely bash the Tide. They trash our players, fans, coaches, state, and I think they even trashed our dogs, man, that's just low. They seem very hypocritical.
After leaving the boards, I was completely disgusted with the Florida nation. I hope that, while we post, we don't stoop to the level of others and do try to remain classy.
So, stay classy Alabama. Roll Tide!!!!!

This coming from a group of fans that CHEERED and did the Gator chop while Prothro was laying on the field? This coming from the same group of fans that cheered when Carnell Williams broke his leg in the Swamp. They can have their version of "class". I'm quite content with the Bama version.

I agree that, at least, those who post are basically bottom-feeders. I haven't read their boards this year, nor do I plan to...

This happened at the florida game last year. Let me share a little story with you about Florida class. Every week we tailgate in the parking lot of a church on Bryant Drive. The people of the church are nice enough to open its doors to let people use their bathrooms and also sell food to support the church. I sat and watched over a dozen Florida fans walk into the church with their beer! Hello! Theres a huge sign in front of the church so you know its a church. They eventually had to put a sign on the door saying "This is a church. Please leave your alcohol outside". There were still florida fans that didnt see the sign or ignored it.

Someone created a poll earlier this week asking if we were more mature than other fanbases. It seemed that a lot of people think that we are more immature than most.

I still say that anyone that believes that needs to go observe the boards of other teams... ESPECIALLY those for Florida teams.

Typically, the "bandwagon" fans seem to be the most classless because they often have no true attachment to the team. They just go with the "in" team and my perception is that they are the most vocal "smackers". You'll find more bandwagon fans for "media-favored" teams such as Miami, Florida State, Florida, USC, Ohio State, etc. than you will for the older, traditional programs such as Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, etc.

For instance, do you think that you would ever see a thread on an Ohio State forum debating whether they should tear down the goalposts? No. Instead, they debate on how many cars they should overturn and how many apartment buildings should be set ablaze after a win.

Florida is the state's aggot college.

Their fans have the same mental capacity as those of Auburn, Georgia, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, ad nauseum.

Throw in a little fear, too. No one else has hung three straight on'em. Those three straight are against their beloved evil genius and their newly beloved urban crybaby.

The problem with much of the supposed Gator nation is that many of them don't really know football. They jumped on the bandwagon under Spurrier and only then because of his flashy offense. I firmly believe that if he had won just as much, but with a "three yards and a cloud of dust" type of offense, many of the Gator fans wouldn't have became fans.

They are not fully committed either. Not far from me is a restaurant/bar called the Thirsty Gator. It's owned by Tim Groves, he's the safety that had the last shot at Lindsey Scott on the famous "Run Lindsey, Run" game winner that preserved UGA's run to the NC in 1980. On game days, that place is packed to overflowing and if the Gators win, they stay late and party hearty. But when the Gators are having it handed to them, they'll clear out before the game is even over. It's more of a social thing with them, rather than a deep-seated love for their team.

On one of the boards there is a supposed Bama fan who is married to a Florida fan. He claims to have attended the game last year with his wife and sons. Evidently the sons wore Florida shirts and were harrassed and berated by several drunken Bama fans in several different incidents. According to him, these Bama fans left him alone, but they went after his pre-teen aged kids with much gusto.

Now, I've been to many games in BDS, several of them BIG games, and I have never once seen a Bama fan act in the way this guy describes. And the other Florida fans are just lapping it up. It's no big deal, but it just goes to show that you really cannot believe everything you read.

Having lived down here Florida for over a year now, I have to tell you that the FSU fans don't really run their mouths that much, and the Hurricane fans are almost non-existent.

But let me tell you, the gator fans are the absolute worst of the bunch. When it comes to delusional domination, no one holds a candle to this collective bunch of morons!

Every fanbase has rotten apples, but I think all in all Bama fans are some of the nicest in the SEC.

I have felt that AL and GA are the class of the SEC. You'll never see CMR or CMS saying fear the thumb, or cry at a press conference(CUM), go off on their own fans in a press conference(CSC), etc. No need to mention CPF or CSS. We had our blackeye's, I know that, but we're back to the traditional classiness of old. That started with the Bear. Dispite our W/L record.

I love our team and all the players and coaches for that!

Roll Tide Roll

How do you think rival teams feel about your rammer jammer cheer? The "got twelve?" t-shirts are cool. You have every right to be proud of that, but pride is often mistaken for arrogance. I'm not bashing you guys, just trying to give you another perspective. I'll bet some poster will come back after this post and set me straight.

Heck, Bama fans are not of one mind about Rammer Jammer.

Some consider it an honored tradition.

Some consider gloating to be the spoils of victory.

Personally, I'm satisfied with winning. Everything that needs to be said appears on the scoreboard. I'm a bit ashamed we have a tradition of rubbing opponents' faces in it, but there's not much I can do about it.

I've been in Florida for 6 years and trust me, UF fans are the more vocal of any of them. I still will support them over all of the other FL schools because they are the SEC team. They got real spoiled under the 10 years of winning with Spurrier and did not quite know how to act after Spurrier left. It's probably a mini version of how Bama fans reacted after Coach Bryant. I surely hope the team is prepared because Bama will be arriving into a buzz saw type of environment Saturday. Here's to getting Gator Nation in an uproar yet again!!

Beat The Gators!

I look at it this way. Whenever you get 90,000 people together from all different backgrounds, throw in some beer and liquor, there are going to be bad apples absolutely everywhere you go. Visiting fans are going to be yelled at and harrassed by a few crazies on every campus. It makes it easy to generalize an entire fan base by the actions of a minority.

The one exception to this is LSU I believe. I think it's because more of their fan base must drink heavily causing them to be borderline violent. I hated my trip down there.

I, and other FL fans have had several problems with overly obnoxious fans in AL and I am sure that you and others have had similar experiences at FL. Thoguht we had covered this already - those fans do not represent the majority at either school.... If you don't think it happens at ___ (insert school here) you need to get your head out of the sand.

That being said, I apologize for the ones that do not represent the school well and I thank those of you here who have responded in kind in the past.

As for bandwagon fans, they tend to jump on schools that are winning or at least appear to be headed in that direction...

Alas, that's the whole POINT! We as 'BAMA fans try to hold ourselves up to a HIGHER Standard than MOST all other FANS! We live by the words of Coach 'BEAR' Bryant.............. "ACT LIKE YOU'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE".....
