Who has DirectTV for football season? I live in Miami now and I won't to know how some of you watch the games that are on cable. Would DirctTV be my best option? Cause down here all I see is FSU, Gators, and UM games...oh my god... I'm gonna !!!

I have DirecTV and I live in the Atlanta area. Last year I saw all but the SM and NI games... they were on ESPN Gameplan but were blacked out in Atlanta area.

You could also go to a sports bar that gets Direct TV. Most of Bama's games are on ESPN or CBS, so you would get those. You would just need to go for the JP and pay-per-view games. Although I heard that CBS is televising the ACC now, so I don't how that is going to mix in. Are the SEC CBS games still going to be nationally televised, or is it regional?

I sign up for digital cable every Sept and cancel it in Nov and go back to regular cable. That way i can get ESPN Gameplan on a weekly basis when needed. I was able to watch all games last year that way.

What area of the country do you live in?...it'll help determining the answer to your question.

Chances are there is an Alumni group in your area. Most of them have a feed for the PPV games already. The average charge per year is about 35 per family.

My family has Directv and ESPN Gameplan...when we aren't at the BAMA home games, we can watch all the away games. RTR

I'm a BRYANT!

I live in northern Illinois and last year I saw every one of the Bama games. If it wasn't on ESPN or CBS, it was on GameDay which is $14.95 a day, just for that Saturday, so I didn't have to pay the $119 for the GamePlan which ran the entire season. I just paid for GameDay on the days I needed to. This was through Comcast cable.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I live in Miami and I didn't think there was an Alumni group here. I thought that the most southern groups were in Tampa and Jacksonville. My problem here is ACC games being on instead of SEC, especially in sports bars. The people here of course don't have an answer to which cable network to go with b/c all the games they want to see are on basic cable. Anyways thanks again and RTR..we're gonna kick a** this year...just cause I said so!!!

From Miami, you can get a round-trip ticket almost as cheap as I can drive 6 hrs one way from SC--and be there a lot quicker. Don't give up on seeing the Tide in person a game or two each year.

Good luck with the dish.

SCrammerjammer...you a mess!!! I wish I had the money and time off to drive 12 hours home every weekend this fall!!! Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going be cable dependent this fall!!! Thanks again and wish me luck!!!

You can watch on the internet if you have a high-speed connection. It's cheaper than ESPN Gameplan or DirectTV, but it's also a little behind (maybe a play) and the quality of the picture is obviously not as good.

COBamaFan,
To which web site do you subscribe? I was only able to get the Bama radio feed last year via Yahoo. I would love to actually be able to watch a game!

Live on Long Island in New York. Most games are televised on national television. Those that are not, I catch at one of several sports bars or on the internet - streaming audio and CBS Sportsline at the same time. I know of no streaming video available on the net but would gladly subscribe to a service offering such...

I live in Chicago area (Big 10 and Notre Dame make me sick) and have DirecTV and saw all the games with their ESPN GameDay plan. Probably will do it again so I can see the Tide.
